I think you can view it that way. Or that he’s been unbelievably durable and what could a physical reveal that shows any sort of concerning chronic injury?
Wow! I thought it was just that he changed his mind. Didn't know the physical/nausea part. What a puss.
What about Joel Bitonio as a LG target? Could be a one or 2-year starter there. In the meantime they could also potentially grab either the PSU OG at 16 or (would be more ,preferable) use 33 or 44 on an iOL like Emmanuel Pregnon. With all the moves they have made, I now feel much more positively about another top pick on an OL without many glaring holes.
Bitino would be my number one target unless I fell in love with that first round guard at the combine. Our WRs outside of Garret are garbage. I would be looking to kick the tires on Tyreek Hill right now.
Bitonio and Wyatt are the only starting caliber, potentially multi year guys left in the market. We need one of them unless we want to use another top tier asset on a lineman which I have no desire to do when we’ve got such little longterm talent at other positions.
Still time left in free agency to see what Mougey does, but if we fucking draft a fucking guard ahead of a WR I will be some kind of pissed off…our WR room is pure shit…I didn’t love letting both Simpson and AVT go (would have preferred to sign AVT and hope he’s past his injuries), but we need to do something here, and it should not be pick 16 doing it.
Though either would likely be a short-term solution at OG anyway. There are stop-gap guys like Kevin Zeitler or Austin Corbett out there or can take a chance on Dylan Parham or a Brady Christensen, who have been starter (I like this PFF tracker: https://www.pff.com/nfl/free-agency?season=2026) But in any event, I think they're heading toward a high investment in the draft. And assuming they don't go get Ty Simpson, here are the positions I see as priorities for the draft: WR, OG, ILB (with Reese likely being clear BPA). I think it's become more reasonable to use a top pick on an OG now given what they've done in free agency and the lack of viable longer term options. Plus, Josh Meyers is kind of a shaky starter anyway.
No way I want that guy on our team for a multitude of reasons. Depth at WR is definitely needed (and I bet they bring back Metchie on a minimum deal, but that's not quite a fix), but I'd be shocked if 16 or 33 isn't a WR and I think value and need could align well there. I'd also hope for another dart throw at WR on Day 3. Can't be much worse than their Day 3 WR pick last year, who I am pretty much writing off at this point, but he is still around technically
So Hill isn't good enough for you but Metchie is? Last thing we need to do is pass on a pro bowler in the draft at another position because we "need" a receiver. Can we at least settle on a number two or at least a number three receiver before draft day? Don't see either one on this roster.
I’d rather have no one than employ Hill. Beyond the fact that he’s coming off a major injury and already looked like he was slowing down, he’s a sack of human shit as a person. Couldn’t think of a worse guy to have in the locker room.
It's not from skill. He can still play. it's from on and off-field issues. There are other free agent WRs I'd rather them pursue than Hill. I'd be absolutely shocked if he was at all on the Jets' radar (or vice versa)
On a great little side note, Brady blocked Crosby from going to the Pats. Absolutely love it. Also, there is an article that says the Pats way overpaid AVT with his injury history and has the Bill fans laughing. Crazy ass AFC east BS.
Wow. The Colts signed Michael Clemens, 3/18. I didn’t think he’d even make a team next year, he ends up with a multi year deal.
Good maybe he commits a game losing penalty or two…..would do the Jets more good than when he was here.
Definitely. Remember, Jets get Colts 2027 first round pick as well. It's in our best interest if they suck/lose this year
