Well he is motivating them because they clearly weren't the same ol Browns and he called them out to prove it. Don't call Myles Garrett out. Its a bad idea.

LOL. I had to read that twice. I meant Myles Garrett. My mistake. But you probably shouldn't call out Miles Davis either, unless you play a mean horn.

Agree with you on Samuel. I feel we could've been more aggressive. I like the switch to Cole. Feel he can help. As for Bowser and Brown I'll look at what they got and if they fit. Can't speak of them. 100% agree on Gabe Jackson. We need two positions right now. CB and G. Any of those available we need to call and I'm not saying overpay but pay alot. I do think he is a little conservative. I did read somewhere Ballard was like this with the Colts his first few seasons and now spends. I wonder too if Douglas realizes we're still really two years away and is trying to save for then. Not saying that's right but maybe.

I'll be interested in three things right now:

    1. If CB Fuller is a free agent if we put a real offer for him. I fear the Broncos and Chargers will be aggressive for him because of past relationships.

    2. I'll be interested in the second third wave of free agency. Into Wednesday of next week. Players like Adoree Jackson, Kujuan Williams, and Rasul Douglas. Guys that can contribute but did not go in the first wave. Guys who'll get prove it deals. Who of these guys does he sign and at what positions. CB and OL need as much help as they can get. Any body at this point helps.

    3. We'll see what happens at 2. I do believe it'll be Wilson or Fields. We'll see. That being said clearly the rest of the draft will focus on multiple OL, and CB at least 1 wr,1 te, 1 lb and maybe a fb.

Time will tell with just over a month out.

I didn't expect the Jets to be able to trade with LV, the Davis family has a long tradition of Jets hate going back to when Weeb undercut Al Davis during the merger.

Free agents left I hope the jets look at. This list isn't intended to be I want them to sign all of them. It's just who I have my eyes on moving forward.

Feeling pretty confident the Jets are going to address G in the draft, hence why that list of names isn't too deep.

QB: Chase Daniel (we need a viable backup who has experience in the NFL)
RB: I'd take a look at Phillip Lindsay and Damien Williams
WR: Juju (yes I still want in)
    TE: Dan Arnold
G: Trai Turner, John Miller, Elijah Wilkerson
CB: Kevin King, Adoree Jackson, Gareon Conley
    S: Keanu Neal

And not for nothing we could use a kicker upgrade.

I'm starting to get concerned where we are as far as the cap. We need a CB badly. And G for that matter. We still have big eyes and want to make another splash signing but I'm not sure it's happening. I could be wrong but after the Cole and Joyner signings I think we have ~$22m-$24mm is cap space. Assume we need ~$12mm for our draft picks. It doesn't leave much left. I see a few 1yr/$2mm deals in our future. Crowder (~$10mm) would obviously have to go if we pick up a JuJu. He may have to go even if we don't (with Cole as the replacement, ugh). Lewis (~$6.7) and Van Roten (~$3.5) have to go if we pick up anyone at G (Turner, etc).

I'm now expecting OG will be addressed early in the draft. For what it's worth, apparently the switch to a zone blocking scheme will benefit some of the current starters - but still need to add at least one starting caliber OG.

Jets ran zone blocking schemes under Gase too though. That offensive line depth chart sucks but we have a lot of draft picks so hopefully that will change.

There's a lot of truth to this.

I am also pretty sure JD is working hand in glove with Saleh and his new coaching staff. I highly doubt JD is just ignoring the offensive line without the input from Saleh. He very may well be telling him something in line with this tweet.

As of right now, putting aside $15m for the rookie class, JD has $9M net left in the cap. Of course he could cut and replace the likes of Crowder, VanRoten or Lewis.
