hmmm, bad attitude steeler receiver coming to the end of his contract? i feel like i have seen this movie before
Bryant is a 3rd strike guy. He's already lost a full season to suspension. Steelers are trying to deal him now because he's not signable to a long term deal given his suspensions. He had no trade value before his 2017 season because teams needed to see him go a season without getting banned for life,
I would say no to Bryant. Talented guy who couldn't fly straight under the Steeler organization bringing him to New York is asking for it. Plus Bowels cannot deal with head cases (Richardson, Wilkerson).
Him and Robby are the same player except Robby has two less strikes. Unless it’s for a 6th, no thanks.
Here is why I wouldn’t do it: Even if you trade a late round pick and Bryant gets his act together for 1 year and puts up solid stats, then what? He either walks or you have to sign him to a long term contract. Neither is appealing.
I saw a game this year when A.B. was out. The throw me the ball statement was made and he couldn't catch a cold after taking a hot shower, walking outside with no coat to work as a kindergarten teacher in December. He did finally make an important catch but from what i saw he is no number1 receiver. Reminded me of Brandon Marshall's last year with the Jets.
He's really talented but has a ton of baggage. Bring him in NY and he can easily get in trouble again. We already have one WR who finds himself in a very precarious spot (Robby). At this point, not sure Bryant would be worth the gamble unless we can bring him in for a real late round pick (a 6th or 7th).
I would not even give away a 6 or 7 round pick, jets can use that to find young hungry players to play special teams.
this is why roger goodell annoys me, and people in general. everyone is more worried about how the guy is off the field than they are about how he is on the field.
So losing a whole year on the football field because of off field issues shouldn't be taken into consideration?
That's gonna be a no from me, dog. Putting aside his attitude-issues and lack of 2017 production, he would require us to use our draft picks. There's plenty of viable WR Free Agent options out there that will not.
