We need to build a better product in order attract free agents. Right now players are not enamored with a 4-12 team that has no qb. I believe our GM is truly trying but nobody wants to come here. If we don't meet the cap requirement then so what. Woody is just going to have to pay or back to the owners. We would still have the same capspace for next year. We wouldn't be losing anything. It would be just woody's wallet that would lose money. It's not worth overpaying for average players that would cripple us in the longterm to only finish 8-8 next season. The 49ers and Seahawks took a few years to rebuild their teams with high picks through the draft. It will time for us as well. People just need to be patient. IT'S A PROCESS (sorry I just had to say that)
I totally agree. Only sign difference makers, and then only players that are going to be around awhile. Right now I would rather the Jets take care of Wilkie and others that the team is going to build their future around. Dont handcuff the team's future for average players that are going to lock up money for years.
Patrick Willis is NOT retiring so much as....what's that old saying about "rats and sinking ships?" There's no way he can request a trade and he's under contract...his ONLY option is to retire. The Niners are DONE...for at LEAST a decade... Tell you what Jets fans...you want to see an organization more inept than us...take a good look at San Francisco right now. They make the Jets & Raiders look like well oiled machines comparatively.
Buster Skrine and Jets "mutual interest" per Josina Anderson ESPN (she knows Bowles real well and predicted Marshall to Jets)
Manish Mehta @MMehtaNYDN Source: Bilal Powell has agreed to terms with a new deal with the Jets. .#nyj
As a #1 yes but he's a pretty good cover guy and he's better than anything we had. Wouldn't mind at the nickel tbh but only if the names Culliver and Cromartie sign before him
And you geniuses know this how? Oh I forget, you know more about CBs then Todd Bowles, etc Probably never even seen him play Oh Wait, you did and studied him during Browns games Such fools
This sucks. I didn't give two shits about DRC last year but this one bugs me. Vereen was a nk brainer fit for this offense and roster as currently constructed.
Agree but Bowles really liked what he saw in Powell. I read that he was the first guy Bowles introduced himself to on the roster. I'll reserve judgement until I see how Powell does in this new system under these new coaches.
