I like Kamara as a receiving threat ala James White, but I am not sure if he is a 3 down back at the next level. I mean what Mixon did to that chick surely makes him a bitch, but he's a talented dude that doesn't have much wear and tear. Each time I see Mixon on draftbreakdown, I think of Bell but not as strong, but faster.

Imagine getting Mixon with the 3rd round comp pick? That could be the steal of the draft.

If they took Mahomes at 6, and got Mixon with the 3rd Comp pick, the offense would be upgraded big time.

It would be. But just think about that for a moment. If we can both come to that conclusion do you not think the 32 teams will as well?

Dude relax with the Mahomes talk at #6. That is the most belligerent shit I have ever heard. He is not even in the top 30 in a VAST majority of big boards.

Solid counter-argument. You think all 32 teams have this guy on their draft board? I know the Lions GM was disappointed Mixon isn't at the combine.

I'll tell you what, watching a bit of the combine RB drills, Christian McCaffrey is smoooth. He isnt big and not the fastest, but he does everything cleanly. I think he will be a real weapon for the team that selects him. Another guy that looked pretty good was Donnell Pumphrey. He's a smurf, but he was very fast.

McCaffrey looked great during the receiving drills and cemented himself as the top receiving RB in this draft.

I'd like him on the Jets. You already have the traditional backs in Forte and Powell. The Jets would be able to put McCaffrey into the huddle, have him lineup in the backfield or as a receiver. He isnt just a gimmick guy. He is a matchup threat. If the Pats take him he'll become an all-pro with the way Belichick schemes plays.

I question the use of the word "belligerent" in this this context. That aside; it's still early with regards to Mahomes and big boards.

Now you're talking my language, I like the sound of this a hell of a lot better than Fournette at 6 and anyone else in 3rd Rd.

I'll be interested to see where he ends up. He would fit in really well with Green Bay.

He's going to be a great utility player at the next level. Run the ball, line him up in the slot, screens etc. He should get at least 15 to 20 touches a game. His movement, everything is so natural to him.

Not to mention his pedigree, which I think counts for something.

we need a back that can run between the tackles and convert tough 3rd&shorts, not another shrimp that flares out the flats (Powell is my dude tho).

That's why I think Fournette is the best RB for this team, but if they don't take him at 6, they won't get him. So that means looking for a RB in the middle rounds and McCaffery might be the best available at that point, and like Cook, he brings a lot of flexibility - meaning lots of options for the QB - the game, so it wouldn't be a bad addition.

Not me. He's too much like Powell and Forte. None are a workhorse back that can carry a heavy workload. None are power backs. They also have Romar Morris who's a pretty good receiver. They need a RB who has power and can carry a heavy workload.

Isn't that a bit short term though NC? Yes we have Powell and Forte next season. Beyond that? Forte is gone for sure. McCaffrey would also, I think, add a massive return threat as well. Not that this is a good enough reason to draft him, but it's a nice bonus. I wouldn't be interested in McCaffrey in the first unless we wound up with a pick right near the end of the round somehow, but I would at the top of the second.

This isn't the draft to get fixated by player A or player B IMO. There are lots of good players out there and the Jets need lots of good players. Making sure we get 3 or 4 good players, over any specific player, has to be the #1 priority in my book. Though QB has to be the obvious caveat, if one of them is the guy we have to do whatever it takes.

Yeah that's how I feel. I like all the top name RB's and same as wide receiver two years ago the 2017 draft is deep in good RB's Because of that, the Jets should take an RB this year, even with Forte on team. Maccafrey is a late first/early second selection, but I don't think he makes it to the Jets second round pick. The draft board would have to change a lot in my view. But who knows?

My goodness...tons of talent out there with the RBs for sure...I like them all frankly

But I will stick to my guns with this draft..... ONE player will have some impact esp on O (maybe a big 1)

But if the OL the QB the TE are not there or you have secondary talent surrounding say a Fournette it will take years for team success

So at the 6 trade down and build your TEAM in our rebuilding year

    jmho

I think even Mac knows the score. He practically is begging to trade down to get more picks. If he can get more picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds either through trading down or trading Sheldon he will be able to build the OL and maybe even grab the QB that falls through the cracks.
