Wayne Chrebet--heart, talent, and personification of what I've always wanted the Jets franchise to be. Al Toon--what Keyshawn Johnson should have been. The only reason Toon doesn't rank higher in the all time lists is because of his career ending concussions. He was amazing. John Abraham--despite the reputation for being delicate he is still playing and putting up good numbers while putting QBs on their asses. Out whole D can't get as much pass rush as a mid-30s Abraham. Think about that..... Victor Green--Other than Aaron Glenn, we already have two of the best DBs in Jets history, but just imagine what it would be like having Green roaming back there with Revis. Ahhhhhhh, what an image. Alan Faneca--as others have mentioned, he helped us OWN the line. We got rid of him to save money but losing him was the beginning of the end for us having a dominant OL. In retrospect, it is clear that Eric Mangini--while he was a shit coach--was/is an excellent judge of talent. I would be thrilled to have him back in a talent advisory capacity. There's more, but why belabor the point that this team is bereft of top tier talent making me miss so many of our players from the past.
Leon Washington and Brad Smith. Both of those guys were constantly making big plays for us when we needed a spark.
1. Jericho Cotchery 2. Braylon Edwards 3. Leon Washington 4. Alan Faneca 5. Damien Woody 6. Tony Richardson 7. Kerry Rhodes In that order.
I think the thread would make more sense if it was former Jets you wish were still on the team in their 2012 form.
If that's the case. I think the following players could help this team NOW Jericho Cothcery- With no decent receivers outside of Kerley and Holmes, he would make a big difference on this team. Kerry Rhodes- He gambles a lot on defense sometimes it pays off other times it leaves you frustrated. Good tackler as well. Braylon Edwards- Because of his chemistry with Sanchez. Jonathan Vilma- He can actually drop back in coverage and defend against those slot receivers and tight ends. Plus he can actualluy tackle. John Abraham- He would instantly become our best pass rusher. Jim Leonhard- Smarty player, solid tackler and can be used in punt returns. Danny Woodhead- Much better than what we're seeing from Shonne Greene
Cotchery wasn't really that good, he was a nice team and effort guy, but he was no major playmaker, we need a playmaker. Take it from someone who loved Cotchery himself, we don't really need him.
I actually miss LT. When they took carries away from him to give to Greene who didn't even earn them, it made me sad.
He had a few good seasons with the Jets, so he was good enough. Plus last season they should have let him be the 2nd receiver, instead of bringing in Plax for that role.
Damien Woody Alan Faneca Thomas Jones Kerry Rhodes Brad Smith Tony Richardson John Abraham Curtis Martin Jericho Cotchery the list goes on, and on.
