I think you must have missed it.

Option A) draft any college QB, they will be better than Sanchez
Option B) trade for someone else's backup, they too would be better than Sanchez
Option C) McElroy (sp?) because he must be better than Sanchez
Option D) me? Since everyone else is better than Sanchez, I figure I must be too! I will do it for the league minimum because I am a nice guy!

Enough. If people believe a post violates the TOS they can use the "report post" button. Responses like the one above are more annoying than the ones you're complaining about.

There's nothing against the rules for someone to argue that Sanchez sucks. I disagree, but that doesn't mean it's against the rules.

Instead of insulting other posters and spewing this BS about whether this forum is for Jets fans or "football" geniuses like you, how about you grace us with your wealth of NFL and football knowledge that you have gained in your many travels and answer my question about who, in particular, the Jets should replace Sanchez with?

If you are going to brag about how much you know and post dozens of posts in threads all over this board this week stating Sanchez is not an NFL QB and the Jets need to move on, you have to give us names and a plan. Otherwise, you are just like the hundreds of fans I have encountered over the years that yells to replace the starting QB the minute the first incomplete pass hits the ground.

    Let's hear it, NFL man.

    Yup.

I think the answer is that you hope that a new OC can get Sanchez's development back on track, bring in a legit backup (a Kyle Orton/Matt Moore/Jason Campbell type), and don't be afraid to draft a QB is there's someone you really like in round four or five (or even the third round if a true first round talent slides that far).

You're probably right. I like the kid and I think he's smarter than Sanchez when it comes to football IQ, but his arm is just too weak to dismantle defenses.

I think he needs to go, but not until they have a plan. There is no plan yet. I would entertain taking a QB in the draft early and hoping they can develop into the guy.

Sanchez is a below average to average NFL starting QB. Not terrible, and certainly nothing special. I don't think that's going to change, but until there's an obvious solution out there, might as well stick with what we've got.

But like I said, if there's a high upside QB worth drafting at our pick next year, well, why not? Then you see how things develop in training camp. Or you let him sit for a year or two. Most draft picks don't pan out anyway, so I'd certainly gamble on one early to at least either light a fire under Sanchez or hope to strike gold. That to me is really the only possible "concrete plan" unless something ridiculous falls in our laps.

To win big in the NFL now, you need that top notch QB. Just not convinced Sanchez is it.

the last thing we need to do is draft a quarterback high

Sanchez is the second best quarterback in Jet history and will be leading the Jets successfully for the rest of this decade, at least

i do believe i've said in the past " i am a nfl football fan " not just a jets fan.

i clearly remember stating i visit other teams forums and followed all teams, not just the jets.

i also stated i was born and raised in new york and was brought up to be a jets fan, and although i have since dropped my loyalties to only one team, i do still cheer for and hope to see the jets win the superbowl again.

when they do, i'll not lay any claim to being a loyal jets fans, that i promise. i get too much enjoyment being an nfl fan and not just a fan of a single team. i don't eat, sleep and drink green koolaid thank god, otherwise i'd be miserable like many on this board that do!

There is no way that the solution for this team is to start over with a rookie QB. Not with players like Ferguson, Mangold, Holmes, Green, Revis, Harris, Cromartie, etc in their prime, and holes elsewhere (RT, S, LB, OL depth, WR with speed, etc.) that need to be filled this offseason. And as the list in this thread of early drafted QBs shows, finding a QB in the draft is about a 25% crap shoot.

If that is your plan, who is this QB who will be available in the middle to the end of the first round or later?

I disagree. Cost is no longer the issue it once was in the draft, and so I would try to fill the typically most expensive and hardest to fill position if I can. I understand it's not our biggest need, but there are plenty of other ways to try to fill those needs, and drafting a QB in Rd 1 or Rd 2, is just one pick, a pick that won't necessarily work out anyway.

I think the value's there. Besides, if it works out, you either have a player to replace Sanchez with, or you have trade bait (in either the new QB or Sanchez). If he doesn't, well then it's just a wasted pick. Not like we haven't seen those before.

Don't get me wrong, I understand the concept of drafting for need. I just don't think we really should. If the BPA is a QB, why run the other way?

If you are not pulling for a team, what is the point? To come on boards like this and criticize a team and bless us with your overall NFL knowledge?

sorry i didn't get back to you on your time schedule, sometimes i do get a phone call and business takes priority.

i don't recall claiming he needed to be replaced when his 1st pass hit the ground. please go back and find that post, i'd like it confirmed for all on this board to see.

is it possible you're spreading lies and getting away from facts?

Who is this QB we should draft in the later part of the first round or in rounds 2-7? Who ? You can't bring up the concept without having the player in mind.

WOW!! dude, it's like you are and have been inside my head! I thought I was the only one seeing this. I've been bitter ever since we lost to the Colts in the AFC title game. The only resolve was the feel good story with the Saints winning the SB. The Jets got shafted both times with Sanchez in the saddle. People walk around talking and praising him for taking us to the AFC title game, that's hogwash!! He was along for the ride, and then he cost us a SB!!

OK. You are not a knee jerk fan. Can you answer my question about who the Jets QB should be from 2012 forward if Sanchez should be pumping gas or working in 7-11 instead of playing football?

This isn't my plan. But it's a potential plan if the right guys fall. I'm no draft guru, but Jones or Griffin fall to my pick, I'm entertaining the idea of it.

You stated a lot more guys in their prime than I consider in their prime. Ferguson, Mangold, Revis, and Harris...yes. I can't stand Holmes. If this is Greene's "prime" then he's pretty good. Cromartie? C'mon.

Yeah, we have some pretty good players. We have some pretty big holes to fill as well. If the BPA is a QB, I think it's reasonable to consider. There's no question that QB is the most important position. And there's plenty of questions surrounding Sanchez. I'm on the fence with the guy, and so if the right pick is there, I think it's reasonable to pull the trigger. If it's not, then so be it. I don't want to break the bank for a QB here. But there's something to be said for finding the best value in the draft, even if it's not a position of need.

You too. If you are going to join the dump Sanchez parade, come up with a concrete solution to your perceived QB problem. Who should be the Jets QB from 2010 on? Names please (realistic ones)
