there will be a lot of guys who you can pay mid-1st round money to in this draft. the nice thing is that the Jets have filled the biggest holes in FA so that the draft is theirs to play with. They can trade up, down, stay and take BPA or even need, as long as that need isn't a reach - and there are WRs rated in that area. Britt is rated around the 40th pick, and the jets have the 42nd i believe.
the league knows that, but in Jetland only we know how good our players are while the rest of the NFL doesn't notice. to those who don't know - there is a scouting dept for the NFL players too, not just the college kids. The franchises have a dossier on every player in the NFL.
I agree with you 100%, but, I think recievers are really going to go quicker than one would think. This years core is pretty decent and there are a few who can make the impact in the NFL right away. I just don't want to see Nicks or Britt gone by the time the 42nd pick comes up. I think that might be the case and hopefully we do something before that happens. If we don't draft a decent WR, do you trust Clowney to be our #2 behind Cotchery who really isn't a true #1 to begin with? Like I said, if we traded this pick for Peppers, it would be a HUGE mistake and we have had too many bullshit drafts in the past to mess this one up. Last season is a good example. We got Keller who I love, but, we really dropped the ball with Gholston. I'm already marking him as a bust unless Rex can light a fire under his ass. #17 will be a WR.
Doubt it. He sucked in a 4-3, and has sucked in a 3-4. Zone/Man situations don't really affect a DE and only sometimes an OLB (in BTs case he stinks in coverage), so he's pretty much out of excuses. You can either get to the QB or you can't. BT can't. I gave him a chance, he's had more than enough time to prove it. He's a JAG.
Very well. Why settle for less, when you can go for the best? WR1: Professor X. You see. He's FLOATING. That means he cannot be called out of bounds or called down as no part of his body will be touching the ground. Let him line up close to the sideline, make him fly out of bound (preferably high), throw the ball at him, and watch him fly into the end zone - UNTOUCHED! Every pass is a TD pass. There you have it, a hall of fame QB I tell you. NT: Iceman He stands with his arms spread wide, then freezes the interior linemen at the snap of the ball. No shifting, pulling. No nothing. Triple-team worthy of NT. Firing icebeam on a cut-back RB for a loss of yard is a bonus. FS: Storm! Watch her fly in the air, waiting for the ball. No deep pass whatsoever. The best ever! I'd say at least grab two out of the three above, and there you have it, 19-0 season.
