Ok, you made me laugh with this one. The Jets decide to have a unique auction of PSL's, never been done before ever, and the whole damn financial world collapses two weeks before the auction. What are the odds? One in a billion?
How'd you like to be the guy who paid $60,000? .... and sitting next to a guy who paid $11,000, .... and his seats are closer to the 50 YL than yours..... One more thing to add: .... and he's bragging how cheap his tickets were and asking you how much you paid for yours. The whole thing is a cockamamie fiasco.
Remember that the tickets actually cost $700 apiece. The licenses are what are costly and yeah the guy who bought his for 60k is screwed when it comes to resale time because the actual value of the licenses is nowhere near that, at least according to the auction.
The croc tears are pouring out of my eyes for Dear Woody. My fondest wish is the average drops to less then the cheapest PSL in the stadium $1,000.00
When does PSL money actually have to be sent in? I wonder how many people who bid will actual send the money in this environment?
The JETS front office is run by a bunch of dopes. PSL's are purchased because they force them down our throat. Had they simply said the PSL's for the best seats are 40K there would have been a line of idiots who paid it. By setting up an auction format with a minimum bid of only 10K the Jets had to believe that not only were there 2000 people ready to bid more than 25K (the price of the cheapest other license), but that there would be so many people willing to pay that amount that the bid price would go up beyond that point (There would have to be surplus demand to drive up the bid price. What we have seen is a deficiency in demand, causing the bid price to migrate downward toward the minimum). The way things are going better than 1000 seats will go for between 10K and 15K.
I found your other bracket in your sig. It is after "happening" as in "happening]". Move ] to the start of the sig where you begin [QUOTE and you'll have a winner. Make "[QUOTE"
i need a mod to fix my shit b/c it still says Your signature can not be longer than 300 characters excluding BB Code markup.
Exactly, and now the seat on the other side are staying at 25k? The exact same seat, but with NO coaches club access, on the visitors side and possibly the colder side? That will be 10-15 grand MORE per seat? Clusterfuck!
$700 a game is more than 60K at anything less than an interest rate of 11% Its the 700 a game people are balking at not the bidding. At a more reasonable interest rate of 5%, these tickets cost $107K without the PSL. No wonder no one is buying them. No one knows what the re-sale value is because there is no re-sale market. You are locked in for a year. If there was a resale market the price should go up in this case bacuase the lock in period is disadvantages to the buyer and therefore makes it less attactive, i.e. cheaper. However you are correct it looks like the persons who paid 60K based on current sales, and if he had a time machine he probably could have done better. Unfortuantely no time machine exists.
