im curious to see what is going to happen with curtis.. between blaylock, houston, and washington the jets have a lot of options.. but curtis martin is a HOFamer it would be tough to lose a guy like him.. sigmaXjet do u post on the caazone?
Forget about it. Cedric Benson was injured tonight. No way can the Bears part with Jones at this time. Jones is banged up, too, by the way.
I really like Cedric Houston and I think he can become the feature back. It would surprise me if a trade for either Chris Brown or Thomas Jones did happen, but if worst comes to worst in the backfield and a trade is necessary, we do have 2 second round picks...
If this is the case, it could explain why Curtis would wait to retire if he is indeed planning on retiring. Even when the game he loves to play has been taken away from him a bit early, rather than being bitter he finishes doing all he can to help the team. 100% class act, and should be a role model for many. I hope he isn't done, but all signs seem to be pointing to his retirement. :martin:
If Tannenbaum and Mangini decide to get a tailback with 250 carry potential it'll show that they have plans to go better than 5-11 in their rebuilding season. I'd prefer Jones over Brown for the same reason I wanted anybody over Fiedler last year: football is a contact sport and the guys who have gotten injured frequently will usually continue to do so. I'd want Travis Henry over both of them combined though, even with his broken leg in 2003-04 and drug suspension last year he's twice the back that Jones is and a lot tougher than Brown.
I hope curtis is around ... i have tremendous respect for him as a player and as a leader. I like Jones when he is healthy ... but living in TN I think Chris Brown is an amazing back. He's a small piece of dynamite when he touches the ball
