If you’re asking me, I think he was a great QB, HOF all the way. With 75,000 passing yards, what is not to like, he was an intelligent QB and great field general. I saw the same things I did last year. He is quick to throw when he should wait and late on the timing or slant passes. He is not accurate and his passes are low or high. Geno Smith is not a top 32 QB and there is not one team that would start him over the QBs they already have. Same thing for Vick. We have two backups and the sad fact is one of them will be starting week one. The sadder fact is Smith made that comment he will be a top five QB this year and said it with a straight face. Which HOF bound QB is he going to play better than to get in the top five? A top 30 effort would be huge improvement for him.

We all have our doubts about Geno he is a second year QB that sucked last year. We do not have agendas like you seem to have. It is just like the Sanchez haters you actually hate the rest of us want to see if can do well. Vick brings an interesting wrinkle to a Rex Ryan coached team in his ability to make plays with his feet but that will not lead this team to a SB but could lead us into the playoffs if he stays healthy. I have not watched the game yest but have seen a few highlights and I did not like what I saw out of either QB. Neither demonstrated any pocket presence and Vick bailed way to early even on his long runs. This judgement could have been because the next highlight was Andy Dalton standing tall in the pocket under pressure delivering a strike down field for a TD.
If you didn't notice anything different from Geno last year, then I question how you evaluate football. While I can agree in the limited action his passes weren't noticeably better, he had much better pocket presence and command of the offense. By the way, its week 1 in preseason and Geno (and Vick) didn't even turn the ball over or do anything detrimental and you make a sky is falling thread. Stop making TGG into a cesspool.
Last year you rarely saw him step up into the pocket last season, he did so pretty easily in his first couple snaps. Also, he looked more confident and looked to get the ball out of his hands much faster. You obviously have a bias against QBs (or it's starting to look like just Black QBs) - that's your problem, not the teams. You should seek help.

You said "Same thing with Vick" - Vick didn't play anything like Geno Smith so I fail to see what similarities you saw. Obviously you have something against the top 2 QBs on the depth chart. I technically never called him a racist. If he wanted to be smart about it, he could have addressed what I said in regards to what Geno Smith actually did on the field to rebuke what I said in my post. Obviously my comment irked him - maybe he does have a problem, it's an internet message board.
I respect your opinion, and you have the right to say it, but opinions are like a$$holes and everyone has one. Some are just shittier than others. I truly would love for Smith to prove me wrong, but i don't think its possible. I have beem a Jets fan my whole life and was too young to remember the only SB win, but as I am alomst 50, I don't have 40 years left to keep hoping for another miracle. Get a real GM (football guy not cap guru), HC (one that atleast cares about offense) and a true fanchize QB (accurate) and build a dinasty!
Smith doesnt have it and if you couldnt see that last year, or when he was in college then you're clueless. But basing it off two preseason series in the first game is pretty ridiculous
I would offer them a pick in the draft at this point. Sanchez with this roster is a playoff bound team.
