If I had the means, I would. Can't do that from work. The first few snaps he took he looked like a high school QB. I'm not saying the guy went out there and shit his pants top to bottom. He made some throws. But he was playing against third stringers and looked every bit the part of a third stringer. I mean, he IS a third stringer so I guess that makes sense, but people calling for him to start are just blind. Dumb or blind.
Simms did look shaky for the majority of his time out there. He did do some nice things. But overall I wouldn't say he was "good last night".
JetsFan - you've been a member of TGG since 2002 and this is the type of shit you post?! Embarrassing. This thread should get FBA (full blown aids) and die immediately.
That wasn't your argument. You said he looked bad multiple times and said he played like shit. He didn't. He didn't light the world on fire and obviously shouldn't be looked at as a starter - only one jackass is saying that. But he didn't play bad.
He did start out pretty nervous, I grant you that, but he evened out and ended up playing intelligently and efficiently throughout the second half. The second and third stringer thing works both ways, he had what was turning into a decent drive totally ruined by a holding call followed by a bad snap. Just seeing a few plays and then turning the game off doesn't equal not doing anything the entire game.
He definitely looked shaky at the start but he settled down after a bit. He wasn't "good" all night but he did move the team a bit. Against scrubs, but that's the plate he was given. _
This is why preseason is the worst time of the year to read your teams message board. Probably the same moron that was screaming at Somers on WFAN last night about Simms not starting. For every Victor Cruz there's 5,000 nobodies that light up preseason and struggle to make a dent on an NFL team let alone start. There are virtually none that ever end up being quarterbacks. The Colts first team defense is not a formidable unit by any means so can you imagine how terrible the 3rd and 4th stringers were that Simms was playing against. Topics like this by agenda ridden morons should just be closed.
He certainly didn't play good. And there is more than one moron saying Simms should start. He looked like a third stringer against the third and fourth string. To me, you want to see more than that. A third stringer playing against equal caliber D should look like he has some sort of command of the field. Simms didn't. He was shaky all night long. Made some throws, yes, but shaky. All night long. I watched the game top to bottom, so you can throw that notion right out the window.
So shut the fuck up then. Colts first team defense sent plenty of blitzes at Geno and he made some pretty decent plays. He looked more decisive and more confident in the pocket. I'm sure you loved Brett Ratliff also. Granted it's only preseason, but I see a difference between last year and this.
Haha. this guy was probably a big Cody Carlson supporter. ((don't ask me how the fuck I remember that name))
72% completion percentage for Simms aint too shabby. Granted I want to see what it looks like against a first team, but he certainly warrants getting the 3rd spot on this football team. Bye Taj.
The only ones calling for him to start have their own agenda, whether it be hate of Geno or some other item. Others run the other end of the spectrum thinking Simms shouldn't be on the field. Simms has played solid enough to deserve a back up role on the team, maybe down the road he will improve and get a chance to show more but right now he is where he belongs.
