Come on now Jay when you have been correct you have been thanked for it. OTH why change your position just to please you when you sincerely believe in another point of view which just happens to not be yours?
Me starting I Luv Herm threads? Better put the crack pipe away & rethink what you posted. Just more misinformation on your part
That was the response I expected from you champ..lol. Its not about changing your opinion...losers and pacifiers change their opinion to be "liked". Its just a disagreement that you and I will always, respectfully, have that I just dont believe that you believe everything you write. Thats what makes the world go round. If I had your point of view...and someone said to me "Jay, the problem with your view is that you think the Jets have 0..not one..but 0 quality players on your roster...and that you think the GM sucks...and the coach sucks...but the jets made it to within a kick of the AFC championship game. Jay...dont you see a problem with your logic?" 99.9 % of the breathing public would look at that statement and say "Ok..there might be a flaw in that logic". Either Herm Edwards should go straight to the hall of fame for taking a bunch of nobodys that far...or the Jets had a pretty good roster. Your inability to answer how that happened leads me to label you as stubborn. Its not about changing peoples mind to satisfy others Champ. So let go of that answer...you answer the above problem...I will easily move on.
BINGO!!! He will never enlighten us with an answer - Whenever I see someone citing their opinion on "judgement not based on knowledge" in a thread I tend to read it as "I have absolutely nothing to back this up - and haven't even bothered doing research - but it's what I've always believed and think everyone else should believe." I take their argument with several truckloads of salt! Peace out.
I answered it wat back in the thread so sorry you will have to fo dig it up, You can call someone stubborn cause you missed something. That is real silly on your part. One MORE time I never saw POTENTIAL in Herm that is NEVER/EVER I also post 1 million times he could not compete with Belly who is in the same division as us correct? Just look at the train wreck he has left & there is you most obivious answer. I really do not want to get in the whole argument that Herm really won with BP players
Champ, I never said you saw potential with Herm or TB. Never. We both agree that Herm and TB were not a good fit for the team. With that said, you have never answered the question..and if you did, I can no longer "look it up" as you like to say because there is no way to go back and check old posts. It would just be easier if you answered the question...but I truly understand why you dont..or cant. I agree that Herm sucked...and that TB was not a good GM. If thats the case, some special players were able to get within a kick of the AFC championship game to overcome horrible coaching. Thats always been my point. You claim that not only did Herm suck...and TB...but the players did too. If your philisophy is correct, which it cant be, some very special angels were following this team of incredible misfits to get the to that point. Never in the history of sports..has a horrible team and coach made it so far into the playoffs. Average teams have overachieved by having a great coach. Very good teams have underachieved by having a poor coach. Average teams with horrible coaches have never succeeded. Thats the end of that.
No, thats not what he said. First off hes a poster...no disrespect towards him. Secondly, he said he would be a nice addition with JV. If you would like...I will post threads about guys that want Bollinger as our number 1 QB. We can just sit around and analyze how much sense that makes too.
lol...ok 3rd...I know you dont like Cowher...but his past record of playoffs and now a superbowl are hard to ignore. Its amazing what a superbowl will do to your resume. Plus, I have always thought the Steeler fit the category of a pretty damn good roster and an average coach.
The roster is probably above average, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but I've never seen a team get so damn lucky in the playoffs, especially as a 6 seed.
Ask Carson Palmer's knee and Nick Harper's stabbed thigh if Cowher is a good coach. Because that's all that was between the Steelers going home. Denver did not deserve to be in the AFC championship game either, if the Pats had not had fumbilitis a week earlier they would've demolished the Steelers there again as well. I don't think I need to go into the travesty that was the Super Bowl, either.
Carson Palmer doesn't play defense. Cincinnati had a 10 point lead with 36 minutes left in the game and from that point forward got outscored 24-0. I think coaching had just a little bit to do with that. Especially in the 17-0 second half. Its called halftime adjustments. Certainly not something we Jet fans saw in recent history. As to the Colt game, Nick Harper gets stabbed and that's why they lost? Are you kidding me. How about they held the best offense in the league, playing at home, to 25 minutes and 305 total yards. Cowher and his game plan get no credit? Be real. Blowing out Denver in Denver..that's supposeed to be easy? Turnovers and injuries are part of football but to not credit Cowher is just plain silly.
Halftime adjustments to a middling QB. If Palmer is in there it's a totally different game. The Steelers do deserve credit for their gameplan against the Colts, however they backed off towards the end of the game, and the Polamalu blown call aside, it almost cost them the game. 99 out of 100 times on a fumble recovery like that the QB is unable to make the tackle and the guy goes the distance.
While you may not like Cowher, you have to respect the longevity he has put together with Pittsburgh. That is not easy in today's world. With the SB win, I think Cowher has bought himself a minimum of 3 more seasons.
The funny thing with this is coaches will never say ill about another coach. None of us really know if BC was jumping with joy that ML,TD & MS were on he other side of the field. Of those 3 I bet in ranked MS as the most difficult to get by with ML/TD bringing up the rear
