It's weird that in a 3 game tiebreaker, the padres would be at NY, but in a 4 game tiebreakers, it would be the other way around. I'm guessing it has something to do with the head to head playing a role in a 4 game tiebreaker.

Sometimes people expose themselves with offhand comments. Is his pathetic performance as a GM so surprising when he cares this little about the game? I would say not.

One might also say the same about a manager whose expert comment on his team's chances is ?If we smell the roses and sip some Champagne, so be it; if not, that?s life.? These kinds of comments can be very revealing.

Those bastards!!! Why, just the other day they said the Mets have a 98% chance to make the playoffs. I saw it. Yisman posted it here somewhere.

You probably are on to something here. There are similarities.

I do think Millen has been better the last two years, though.

Oh yeah certainly the chance at another game is great but it's losing to Philly yet again thing that kills me. I'd much rather Mets win Phils lose scenario but if that doesn't happen playing Monday is much better than not playing at all. The question then becomes who does Philly pitch? Do they go with Hamels on 2 days rest or take a chance with Lohse? Do they go with Kendrick. I'm saying with a pretty good felling of certainty the Mets and Phils will be playing tommorow.

Nevermind that, the Mets could also use some rest in their own right with their fatigued bullpen.

Yeah, but in addition to winning the division outright, a tiebreaker for the other two teams is desirable.

Most definitely. It extends the amount of time they can rest, and also taxes the other team. Can't go wrong with that.

Good news, same lineup as yesterday for the Mets.

Who would benefit the most with these scenarios?

The playoff team with the worst record. Those little lovable blue furry tractors.

Olivo only got suspended for 5 games. Seems kinda light.
