I am so happy. I can't believe they picked Florham Park. I live in Florham Park and its going to be a great place for the Jets to hold their HQ. I can't wait until they start.
It's a quick ride for me down I-78, but I wished they picked the Jersey City location. At least you could see manhattan from there.

seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa wouldnt want to be yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa long islanders enjoy the commute like i have over the years.
Wow talk about taking it over the top. They are in a friggen NY suburb. Many other teams play in suburbs of the city they represent. This is not a first.
I personally don't consider New Jersey a suburb of New York. It's an entirely different state. I've lived in the borough of Queens all of my life...how should I feel any sort of relationship with the Jets if they don't play in or have any facilities in the state they are named after. Sure, i took it over the top, but if I was a much younger fan, why would I want to connect with the Jets (or the Giants) for that matter. I wouldn't be saying this if the Jets continued to practice in New York. I understand it could be a hassle for them, but that's their problem. If they were that committed to their NY fans, they would've tried harder to build in Queens. I realize that you've always bought into the "tristate", "suburb," etc. stuff, and I do to a certain extent, but not when the franchise entirely leaves the city/state they represent.
So using your logic, I shouldn't be a Mets fan? I shouldn't connect with them? They got a sweetheart deal in NJ. They got the land bought for them, and it's easier for their players since they now only will have to pay taxes to 1 state. The state likes it because they collect 15M in taxes a year for 20M purchase of land. Noone loses in this deal. The fans do not lose. You live near Hofstra, which upsets you, and I understand, but it's still a practice site. Washington DC and Landover, MD are entirely different places too but it's OK for the Redskins. Believe it or not, Landover, MD is 2X as far away from Washington, DC as East Rutherford is from NYC. Teams play in suburbs all the time. Most teams cities are not on the very border of a state. NY does not stand for New York State, I can promise you that. If it did, it would have already been switched (no economic value). It stands for NYC, and East Rutherford, NJ is just as much a suburb as Westchester, NY or any other town in NY. THe Jets made the best deal for the Jets. If that would have been in Queens, NY, it wouldn't have effected me in the least. Like I said, the Mets are in Queens, and I'm still a fan.
