We can look at it from any angle that lets us see what we want. That said. The fact that d has kept us at a +2 per game turnover ratio probably has a lot to do with the difference in records. Quality of opponent should probably be mentioned too.
To put the difference in records squarely on fitz v geno is shortsighted

It's a whole lot different when you have a near elite defense to take pressure off of you, constantly creating turnovers thus giving you short fields while playing with the lead 90% of the time. Than when you have to carry the team while attempting to make come backs and Geno wasn't that kind of qb last year.

It's such a strange situation. Fitz is winning, not turning the ball over and playing decent imo. However, Geno in a hybrid spread Chan Gaily system has the potential to show us if he can be a franchise QB.

At this point we have to roll Fitz for so many reasons but if he goes down Geno could show us if he is legit or not.

Fitz doesn't like to slide when he decides to take off running with the ball. I'm guessing that's going to end up badly for him at some point this season and we'll see what Geno can do.

The simple answer is that neither of them is a particularly good QB and so the odds are that neither of them would have done anything special in those opportunities.

Sanchez in Philly's uptempo last year still looked like Sanchez, just a bit better in the overall numbers. QB's don't tend to change the shape of their numbers in this uptempo era. What Fitzpatrick is doing in the Jets offense looks pretty similar to what he's done in various places over the years. Occasionally a QB will suddenly find himself late career and become very productive for a few years but they're generally making a switch to a game manager role when that happens.

I'm hoping it's just because he's needed first down yardage and sliding wouldn't have gotten the yards. I'm thinking you're right though, that Fitz will go down at some point and we'll be glad we have Geno so the rookie doesn't become the default choice. The Jets may choose to put in Petty over Geno late season anyway but it's nice to not be forced down that road.

It's not as if it is definite that Fitzpatrick will get hurt. Here's hoping that doesn't happen. I would love not to see #7 behind center all year.

TB has addressed it publicly and surely stressed it in house. That and saying Fitz doesn't need to win the game himself...it's not on him to win the game.
Hopefully Fitz adjusts, and breaks maybe some bad habits formed under worse circumstances

Let's not forget the comments made by the other players on offense.

They all commended Fitz on his command of the offense. He's a steady hand on the rudder.

That is something that can not be underestimated in this transitional season.

Bringing him in was a good move by the GM.

All the "what ifs" don't change that.

Wonder away. Just do not wish it. Sanchez still made his same dumb mistakes in the Philly system. I have no reason to believe Geno would not do that here. A bird in the hand.......

This is a possibility. But we should only have to find out about Geno under duress at this point. He does not deserve more than that. Maybe he will flourish in this system. Maybe pigs will fly out of our butts.

another 250 yard 2 TD from fitz, including another long TD drive after the opponent had just scored.

anyone still clamoring for geno is a complete tool.

62% Completions 13 TD 7 INT 1800 yards and really getting it done in the redzone. more then most jets fans could have asked for

I was impressed by Fitz's play yesterday.

    Cutler would've mailed it in.
