Yeah, it's hard to envision Geno doing something like this. Hopefully this type of stuff rubs off on Petty.
But the geno supporters will say Geno would be doing better utterly disregardful the facts that he did this to himself with his attitude and behavior. It is nice to have an offensive unit that just plays together and is communicating. And before geno supports jump all over this show me where during the season a story was published that Geno was texting receivers and accepting a leadership role and acting like leader and I will change my tune. but sorry I just don't see it coming from geno. I just hope Petty is taking notes
Personally I think this kind of proffessional, veteran work ethic is not just commendable, but a huge catalyst and a solid example of leadership that will rub on both Bryce and Geno. I truly believe that this team for the first time in a long, long time is singing out of the same hymn book from the GM down to the last guy on the practice squad. Players or coaches or locker room attendants that act in a manner that adversely affects the betterment of the team will be shown the door. Prima donnas will not survive well in this environment. Win or loose we can for once expect a better prepared, more unified and cohesive team on the field, with proper coaching adjustments, play calling, and focus on turn over avoidance. Geno can learn plenty from Fritz, and perhaps if he is smart enough, when and if he comes back he will be far better prepared to play like a Jet. The new, disciplined and responsible new Jet.....not the cliche of years past. As I said many times before, all 53 active players are NYJ and I want the very best for each and every one of them. I want this team to continue to get better and win. Those that don't get the message that this is a team first approach will be watching the game from the sidelines, or from home.
It's so refreshing to know we have a professional playing Quarterback for us instead of the shit show we have been forced to watch the last two years
Yes. even if Fitzpatrick makes mistakes, looks terrible, etc. Its nice to actually see some professionalism at the position for once. Its been quite a long time actually since we've had a guy at the starting helm that approaches the job with professional focus here. Pennington maybe the last guy.
Geno won't even look at what is sent down from upstairs when the offense comes off the field..about the only thing he does is sit on the bench by himself with his arms crossed and looking straight ahead and talking to nobody.
This may be the best article Mehta has written about the Jets!!!!! As several of the posters have noted above this is very encouraging and I hope Geno is paying attention. Not necessarily for the Jets sake but his own....
