Week 2 of the season will tell me a lot about this Jets team. Short week. At Buffalo. If Fitz shows he can take that team on and beat them, I think it will show that this was a great move. As Bart Scott would say: Can't wait!
Those first 2 games like that against those teams are rough. We will wait 9 damn months until the season and in 4 days they could easily be 0-2. Then we'll pretty much have 14 weeks of "waiting for next year." I hope I'm wrong but damn I dont like that setup
They could absolutely start (2-0) though too. I get a feeling that they could pull that off. I believe in this team. We will see!
I thought the same thing, for $15mil I would be in the lobby at 5:30 watching netflix on my cellphone.
You know the whole team will have that game circled on the calendar. It's going to be revenge time and I would expect to see everyone's A game like their life depended on it
amen, everyone looking at our schedule and are pooping their pants. the other team has to play us too. we had a good off and pretty good def last year and we've only gotten better w/ forte, clady, healthy revis, lot of 2nd yr players and mo back. i can't imagine why we aren't given a fighting chance.
only one prac but fitz with 3 INT's today and Geno with the first TD no INT... splitting 1st team reps
I still don't understand what people like about fitz over geno. Geno WILL 100% without a doubt out perform fitz in training camp. This should be common knowledge by now. The only thing I have against geno is the time zone screw up. He has made some bad choices throwing the ball down the field but so have the majority of other quarter backs. Number of interceptions does not show quarterback skill very well. It's when and where you throw interceptions. I fee like we can all agree the geno has a SUBSTANTIALLY better arm and is SUBSTANTIALLY more athletic then fitz. How many seasons has Eli thrown more int then tds? Would you rather have fitz over Eli? How about Romo? Maybe even Luck? INTERCEPTIONS DO NOT DEFINE A QB. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
in related news, Geno Smith accidentally shows up at Raiders training camp because of time zone confusion
That's only if he is not on the team. I'd assume they will work something out if he is, so no biggie yet. Burn. Me too!
It was a necessary evil, we would've had to restructure Revis's contract otherwise. We'll be better able to afford that cap hit in 2017 when the cap rises. And by that point we might switch to Hackenberg as our starting QB.
He counts as $5 mil dead no matter what because the 2nd year of the deal voids 5 days after the Super Bowl. This was just to distribute the cap hit over 2 years so we wouldn't have to restructure contracts in order to absorb a $12m this season. There'll be $5m dead next year even if they bring him back on a new deal.
