Why would the CS risk starting Fitz? at best he will be a backup...

Having a bad personality, a poor demeanor and I wish I could punch you even if you don't owe me money face have nothing to do with playing football...Geno will start...its amazing the hate he gets...even the dumb looking lispy Quincy Carter never got this kind of hate...

Solid vet backup Qb's get $3-6M a year. That's what Fitzpatrick is looking at on his next deal most likely.

I leave it up to Fitz. If he feels he can play, then let him play, since its pain management. An injured Fitz is better than a less injured Geno. And based on reports it doesn't seem like rest is going to solve the issue for him.

So then you're saying he won't play until next year? He needs surgery, but he can play if he can handle the pain. This is going to just get better with time.

LOL, no. I'm saying he needs to get comfortable handling the ball with his current injury before he can play, and that might not be so trivial. Of course, it comes down to pain management.

I'm sure he'll be sat down if he is clearly ineffective due to the thumb injury.

You can't play QB with one hand, the Jets don't want to tip their hand as to who will be starting but there's no chance Fitz can play the season as a one handed QB.

I liked Carter. His record was 2-1 as a Jet starter. Too bad he liked the tootskie a little too much.

Pfft...you just mentioned Carson Palmer and Kurt Warner...not exactly in the same league as Fitzpatrick. A hobbled Kurt Warner is worth Fitz and Geno combined. :p
