gocong looks pretty sweet, i have to agree. Every team's list is different and in our Fo's minds, for better or worst, they had mr.schelegel (sorry, too lazy for spelling) as a 3rd round guy. oh well, let's get em at #97

They had 9 picks today, picked up another 6th or 7th, and a 2nd next year.

cbs has reported that the eagles gave us just a 7th, not a 6th and a 7th...that second rounder from the skins could be as good as a first rounder...down year for synder ball

ok? I said a 6th or 7th(Do you see the OR there, not an AND), i wasn't sure, read what I wrote. It is still another pick. What is your point?

Schlegel is going to be used as "weight" inbetween the DE's and NT simple as that. He will also be special teams from day 1. He is your proto-typical Patriot "random" of the last couple years.

I'm afraid we wouldn't take him even if he is there at 97. I think our FO is placing too much weight on character, if that's at all possible.

I love the pick. This is the type of guy who everyone overlooks.

Finally able to get online, my service took a shit 2 days ago and I haven't been able to get online until just now. Anyways as far as this pick goes I do think it was a reach. I would've hoped for someone else but then again this draft hasn't been what I wanted or expected. I know some will say we needed to address the line issues and while I agree I thought we would at least address some of the position needs ( the guys that actually touch the ball) I do like the Clemens pick.

    ... my 2 cents ...

... schlegel was who tangini wanted ... they knew it was a reach, thus tried to trade down & get anything they could for the move ... which was the 7th rounder ... for whatever reason they believed that someone else picking after 76, but before 97 was also going to reach for him (i.e. miami - dallas - or most likely new england) or else we would have just waited to pick him at 97 ... who knows, perhaps belichick and magini were together still when they saw something they liked in him ...

... all in all i love the other picks and will trust the FO on this ... let's see what he's all about ...
