Don't care for the theatrics of this, I just want to see the Jets win and get this season back on track.

From Wikipedia.... This is complete bullsh*t! I used to go to a lot of Jets games at Shea and if I remember correctly, it was a group of people sitting in the upper deck (left side in the corner) that would start the chant. One of the guys always wore a Pat Leahy jersey. I think he also wore a Jets helmet. Someone else wore an Abdul Salaam jersey. First year in the Meadowlands it was fans in the upper deck on each end who would start the chant. Each side would try to be louder than the other. Then either the following season or the next one after is when Ed starting getting in on the action and directing the chants. Ed is full of sh*t.
i watched the ravens game with him. only like ten people showed up to the viewing at bowlmor lanes so really i was literally watching the game with him... made sure to get to the bottom of the chant- he doesn't claim to the originator of the chant. He told me it was only a year after the team moved to giants stadium that he started doing it. i always had a cynical view of him because he always seemed a little too- look at me, hooray for the jets, yay! with no SOJ blood in him. but il tell ya, watching him curse through every play (and direct a shitstorm of hate towards vlad ducassae) of the ravens debacle made me gain a whole new appreciation for the guy. jets games with loud, united jets chant> jets games with no jets chants...case closed
More like he is a self promoting asshole. There is no difference between him and that tool on the Jersey shore. They just do it differently.
Good post. How can you hate another Jets fan? People in here are always bitching about the lack of crowd noise at the games and people selling their seats to rival fans. Here's a guy who shows up to games AND gets the crowd unified in a chant and you want to piss on his leg for being an attention whore? Please. Let the guy have his due and quit tearing us apart.
. I remember the chant at Shea but the best memory was at the Meadowlands when each end zone would try to our chant each other. That was a blast and when the crowd rocked.
