    I agree LIB. I'm one of those longtimers that hung around. I appreciate FE mostly because of the chant that made this team famous..

    Well, he's back and from what I've read, he's looking to pass the torch to the next Jet "SuperFan". Hopefully, a new SF will assume the mantle with this new regime in place. Too many corporate fans as it is...

    Agree 100%. When the Jets Chant thunders through the stadium it's pure adrenaline pumping magic.

    Who the heck knows the Chiefs or the Packers chant? Everybody knows the Jets chant.

    Glad Fireman Ed's back, hope he stays - Go J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets!

    Looks like Marshall wants ED back fulltime, good gesture, the home games were dull without Ed, hope he sticks around, having different fans leading each home game was a lame attempt by the Jets

    Say what you want about Fireman Ed but it hasn't been the same without him leading that chant.
    I for one vote for Ed to come back and set fire to that damn Aviator drum line!

    I actually like having them outside the stadium to get people revved up on their way in. They should stay outside, though.

    Fuck Fireman Ed. I was one of his biggest supporters when he quit but now I'm thinking he doing it for the attention. Either do it full-time or don't do it at all.

    Couldn't care less about ED being there or not, but his presence today really was not felt.

    The team playing well is what gets the fans pumped and the crowd making noise.

    Amazing that their are so many strong opinions about a fan. The Jet chant is unique though. I don't remember it when I went to my first Jet tilt in 1964. So it must have come from somewhere.

    Jets fan base has a huge subgroup of endless whiners. Look no further than the game thread for proof. The people who complain about Ed fall into this group.
