So you disagree with Ross Perot's pie charts entertainment value? A shame. Oh, and I meant to say the 2019 season. Sorry.
yes but with the improved roster + a maybe FQB your statement these days may not hold water about nobody wanting to come here. I will say it again & again Chris did every NYJ fan a disservice by reupping Bowles since not in eons will he compete with Belly when it comes to FB knowledge
The list of mistakes are wrong with this post. Mindless analogy that says you don't have a clue how bad Kotite was. Better question is what's the point of these mindless posts. No one is getting fired now. Kotite inspired players? Lol, that's so bad, your head had to hurt after typing this ridiculous statement.
Met Bowles, liked him. Good enough for me. Hey, I know that sounds utterly stupid to say, but I've never been a "fire the coach guy". I liked Rex too, but near the end of the Rex years it wasn't so much the talk, but his decisions weren't good. He should have stayed far away from the draft room. Back to Todd Bowles, I'm going to stand by him throughout this season. I want a regime here that can stick. I want to see his mistakes start to fade-away in year four. I like the culture we have with the young players. I'm more in upgrading talent within the sidelines rather than a coaching overhaul that replacing Bowles would cause. Bates looks like he'll be a great offensive coordinator - something Rex never had. I can only assume Todd Bowles has a good relationship with McCagnan - we all know Bowles wasn't McCags choice, they came in together, but so what? I believe a good QB and a good Coordinator will make Bowles look better and better as we go along. STABILITY
Regarding Kotite, two words: VANCE JOSEPHS. Okay, okay, you could also use the two words WAYNE CHREBET. This argument is silly anyway because apparently the argument that starts this thread is using Kotite's Eagles record. He started out OK there, then slid. Any of us old enough who knew Eagles fans back then can remember how hysterical they were when we hired him. And damn it, those idiots from South Jersey were CORRECT. Eagles fans could not wait to ditch him. They thought we were idiots.
Ugh because 2 out of his there seasons Todd's teams won more games than anyone and everyone predicted? Todd's worst season, with gutted, rebuilding roster won more games than Kotite did in 2 seasons? The same basic roster with Parcells won 8 more games? Lack of game planning and adjustments? Lol. So let's recap. Kotite and Bowles are similar, makes them the same . Belichick started the same way, means nothing . Try an approach that is based on something more than, because I say so
We've all heard the saying that 2 wrongs don't make a right but comparing Richie K and Clueless Todd is a perfect example of 2 Bads don't make a Good .
Bowles is an emotionless statue on the sideline keep waiting for pigeons to land on him or the paramedics to shock him back to life
So is the hoodie. Bill Belichick is infamous for refusing to show the media (and fans alike) his true emotions or ever appearing as being too high or too low. And because of Belichick's cold demeanor his teams come through big in the clutch and rarely crack under pressure; they are locked in and focused (with their head coaches mentality). He is special in that regard. Guess you've never heard the saying of "No smiles no cries". It's a militant mind set and something Todd Bowles (the person) was born with and/or molded into. He had no choice. Some here may not know but Todd Bowles is born and raised in Elizabeth, N.J. A home town guy. I love seeing him on our sidelines. And was raised out of the notorious 'Pioneer Homes' Projects (which are no longer there). He can relate to some of these players more than his pundits and critics ever could. He's been there before. And did what he had to do in order to survive. If you grew up within the same environment and living conditions as that of Todd Bowles, i bet you wouldn't be all smiles and "happy go lucky" neither. This man knows how to survive and is focused on task at hand. And his players respect him as a man for that. I'm sure Rex Ryan's upbringing was a little bit different than Bowles' therefore they've had different personalities and mind frames throughout their childhood dating back to since birth. So easy judge another man's character, personally and demeanor without ever knowing who they are as men and where they come from in life. He had good parents, they pushed him,” said longtime friend Towana Myers, 51, who graduated with Bowles in Elizabeth High School’s class of 1981. “We all came from the projects … we struggled. He lived in Pioneer Homes, I lived in Migliore Manor. I was on 1st Street, he was on 2nd. “He was low-key, always into doing what he had to. Whatever business he had to handle, he handled. That’s what type of guy he is: He will accomplish. Whatever he set his mind to do, he will do it.’’ Ask anybody who knew Bowles, and you’ll hear the same story — a kid who was disciplined on the field and off. Coming from Elizabeth, the inner city, you’ve got to have discipline. you’ve got to be strengthened and not let all the distractions get to you, or you’ll never make it". I'll take the words of his childhood friend over the words of some of these so called "Toilet Bowls" know it all's..
Beli didn't become a "good coach" until he got his quarterback. Having 'the guy' changes your whole perspective and opens up possibilities that simply didn't exist before. I'm willing to wait and see how Bowles and Darnold grow together.
If the team doesn't improve throughout the year (i,e,, remains prone to making boned headed mistakes and there is NO accountability -as in benching them, is not prepared, not competitive, etc.) then he should go after this year. He has stated this is the best talent he has had since he came he well I say then its time to step up as a HC and ensure your team is prepared week in and week out. We'll see....
