Good game for Bowles today. Let's see if he can carry this over to next week. I'm not counting on it, so prove me wrong, Todd.
I have been hard on him but give him credit the team played well. Lets see if he can get this kind of effort consistently.
The only thing I didn't like was the decision to have Cannon field a punt. When I saw him back there, the first thing I thought was here comes a fumble and it almost happened. I understand there was a problem with Roberts, but with the Broncos within striking distance you don't put a rookie in that situation, especially one that has had a history of problems fielding punts. Otherwise, good game by Bowles and the Jets.
nice win for the good guys,,,,,but make no mistake that Bronco Defense was horrible and their offense was slightly better,,,,,I will take the win but this does not change my opinion of Bowels his body of work speaks for itself,,,ps why is that imbecile not falling to the earth but trying to run that INT back with no time left , just plain stupid = did he get hurt or collapse from heat exhaustion ?
Bowles is still terrible. Beating a lousy Denver team shouldn't lower the heat on the hot seat by even a single degree.
if he can keep the team looking like that, win the ones he is suppose to win and play tough in the losses he will be back.
he may have stumbled on a winning formula today. That would be he handles the D, turns the O over to Bates and ST's to Boyer. Todd Bowles as HC/DC might be a viable solution.
If he had Cannon in to "send a message" to Roberts. I'm okay with it. In the end it didn't cost them.
we'll see. bates has to be less predictable on 1st down. we need more than 1 wr to be productive in a game. tight ends need to be better. not sure why they didn't go to Leggett more. he made a nice first down early. and long is going to ruin a game with his shotgun snaps. can't complain about the d today. down tru and skrine leaving early and they still held on. specials are one of the better units in the league right now. boyer is turning out to be a good coach, it seems. or maybe the depth on the team is better.
Definitely some areas that still need work, but it seemed like Bates opened up the playbook more today. Also, there was much more effort on everyone's part. Hopefully that's not just due to "winning one for Kacey".
