At the end of the day, no matter how you feel about Bowles, the Jets are knocking on the door of tying their second longest playoff drought in their history (8 years.........8 fucking years).

Bowls has been at the helm for half of them. We should have known after the choke job year 1.

Its not if he’s fired, it’s when, and when can’t get here fast enough.

To me, him punting with like 4:30 to go down 15 put me at an absolute tipping point. I already thought he was a lousy coach, but when that happened I lost it. Now, its not like I expected them to convert and then make a miraculous come back. But it was still TECHNICALLY possible...I’ve seen situations before (a lot actually) when a team quits on the coach (look no further than the Giants last year with Macadoo). I have NEVER seen a coach completely quit on his players. Such an utterly ridiculous call there that it honestly deserves its own thread.

What are the real odds we could pry DeFilippo from Minny? Or is it too soon for him to leave?

He's been doing those punts for 4 years now. He is either conservative to a fault or has no idea what he is doing. I see no reason to fire him before the year is over, but I didn't want him back this year and I don't want him back next.

Listening to NFL radio this AM. They believe Todd Haley will be the coach of the Jets.

Didn’t he self destruct in KC? I’ve read that he had a lot drama with players and had trouble controlling his temper.

Seems like that combination would get him eaten alive in NY.

I hope so. Haley would do a good job here. He would get the most out of Darnold. Darnold has the ability to play a lot like Roethlisberger plays, and Haley brought the best out of Roethlisberger.

Haley is also an asshole and these players need an asshole more than ever. It would be awesome too if he could bring Gregg Williams with him from Cleveland to be his defensive coordinator. During hard knocks they seemed to be more on page than Hue Jackson was with them. Williams would fix this defense. they are too reactionary, he would have them attacking again.

Sometimes coaches learn from their mistakes in their first time as HC. Belichick, Carroll, Coughlin, etc. And Haley's a great fit for Darnold. He runs an offense for a mobile gunslinger and Darnold won't get into fights with him. I'd be happy with Haley.

Players like playing for Bowles. Unfortunately, with him and the coaching staff, results are not there, yet but he’a running out of time.

Haley, I believe players didn’t like playing for him.. If that is true why bring him here. I do however agree that it’s rine to bring an offensive minded head coach for a change. It hasn’t worked for the Jets the last 20 years...

Would it be fair to say that if they like playing for him, then they're ok with being losers? I guess that may be a bit extreme, but when I've had a bad manager, likable as they may have been, they caused me stress through ineptitude.

Hardasses don't always work out well either. They can sometimes get quick results through fear but that's generally not sustainable. That said, I'd rather risk that at this point then stick with a guy who's admitted (whether he knows it or not) that he's in over his head.

After Shoddy Toddy the Jets NEED some discipline, accountability and pride

Someone who will BENCH EMBARRASS CHALLENGE or even tell a player he is REPLACEABLE

At the same time say "you DID your job!!!/"good job" (Cause this is a BUSINESS)

Sorry guys..but imo it's the COUGHLINS GRUDENS PARCELLS BELLICHEKS and VERMEILS that produce SBs

Unless you have a situation like say the Phil Eagles where Pederson KNEW ALL the guys were very highly motivated and spiritual to PUSH themselves your gonna have to get the Ringleader who cracks the whip to get the fat spoiled pampered Cats to perform EVERY Sunday

If they are 1-6 after this stretch they have to get rid of him this year. No way could he come back next year with more mindless and subpar play. If he does then the Johnsons need to get out of the professional football business. You see the Jets are not a priority for the owner as he is over in England eating crumpets and sipping Earl Grey tea.

I think the Jets need someone like that. They are too comfortable losing. They should be chewed out constantly until they get it into their heads that they have to play better. Then the wins will come.

You know who had tons of fun the past 18 years?

    The fans of the Pats.

    They had a friggin' orgy.

Gonorrhea is on the rise among the elderly. That's a fact according to the CDC. I better watch myself. I mean, you better watch yourself.
