He was pointing to his helmet as he was walking to the sidelines. It was pretty obvious it was a technical issue.
Again, it wasn't that one T.O., it was that they had to use their last T.O. for it. It's great that it worked out, but Bowles needs to manage his T.O.s better in any case. Also, as I suggested, why not have a handful of "emergency plays" that can be used in the event of a malfunction or play taking too long to get in? Of course if they're in a situation where they could score, taking the T.O. to make sure of things isn't a bad thing. I just think that Bowles doesn't value them enough. And he's not alone in that by any stretch - lots of HCs, even the good ones, burn T.O.s when maybe they don't need to. But this is an aspect of managing a game that the winning teams seem to have a good grip on.
Youre being harsh with Bowles when its due to Darnold, not Bowles. You have a rookie QB with all of the concerns of him being over his head when the real game with real bullets start flying and you want to add more to his plate like emergency plays? Plays that you wouldnt have used if the headset was working? All of this over a game, like pretty much every game fans complain over the use of TOs had no effect on the final score. Difference here is that in the game this time we blew the opponent out, making the TO arguement pointless. You are 100% right though, every HC, if you watched every single game, has to burn TOs from time to time.
Its amazing that this is still being discussed when those timeouts led to 10 points in the first half for the Jets.
Jets looking pretty typical today in the Bowles Era. Not competitive after a big win. Seems we've seen this movie before... Often.. This is the new culture they're trying to sell? Looks a lot like the old culture to me..
Good call toilet Bowles, spike it after the first Herndon catch, then you still have your timeout. Fucking guy is in his 4th year, still coaching like a rookie. Bowles is ass
This is year 4 in the Bowles experiment and it's just more of the same. The team isn't getting better, certain adjustments aren't being made when they should be,play calling on all sides is awful. We are not making progress on any level.4 years without one playoff birth?this guy isn't good enough to survive that ...If we look like we did today for the rest of the year how can you justify bringing him back.
But, but we beat the Lions. Anyone who watched the first game and saw a great Jets team, and not an awful Lions team, deserves the enjoyment of having Bowles coach this team for the next decade.
Now, what was that about the team always showing up after big wins in the Bowles Era??? Just more of the same unprepared, undisciplined effort. Bad game plan, bad execution, bad coaching... Same old Bowles... Same old Jets...
