we are seeing a lot of improvement though - in 2023 with no Rodgers we started 2-3 with just 93 points scored but in 2024 we are now 2-3 with 93 points score - oh wait.

I don’t know how I missed this, but on top of his gem of “just keep doing what we’re doing, it’ll be alright”, he also apparently referred to this as the “nothing part of the schedule”.

I mean, does he take anything seriously? How is this attitude allowed to pervade the team? The players are already done with it, you can hear it coming out with words like “accountability”, “preparation”, “focus”. The players are all hitting the keywords that point to coaching without blatantly saying it.

This team pretty much never comes out ready to play. The first half is always like pulling teeth. They don't usually figure out the offense until it's too late and they are in desperation mode. It was exactly the same with Zach Wilson. I don't see any difference. The offense is so vanilla it's not even funny.

Why don't they do any creative plays at all? Why not use Breece and Braelon to their strengths instead of just running Breece up the middle every time and doing unconvincing play action fakes to Allen. No designed rollouts, no bootlegs, no end arounds with Garrett, no flea flickers, no philly specials, no runs to the outside, nothing even remotely creative. Every single 3rd or 4th & 1, they run up the middle and the defense is ALWAYS ready for it, because they NEVER change that up. It's like banking on waking up in the morning and having to take a piss.

The problem isn't Saleh either, it's Hackett. This is YET ANOTHER game they could have won, but the offense let them down. The pick 6 was the difference in the game. That sequence where they got a pick and were in prime position to take the lead, but then immediately choked it up for 7 was as "same ol' Jets" as it gets.

The one silver lining to all this is that the Bills have lost 2 in a row now, which means the Jets are still alive. They gotta turn this mess around and I just don't see it happening unless Hackett gets the axe. We know they are capable of trick / creative plays, we saw it last year against the Eagles and Chiefs, but this year there's been almost nothing creative.

The problem is the players aren't performing well enough. It's still early. I think calling for jobs is the weakest kind of analysis. Francesa or other talk show types calling for firings is despicable. With him it sounds personal.

    I hated that

    BUT

That's the modern NFL they ALL do it. ALL of them.

The 'go for it' mentality in the modern game.

Go for two, go for it on 4th down, go for it on 4th down on your side of the field or midfield etc.

    It is what it is.

Coach Saleh was not doing anything out of the ordinary in the modern NFL.

Except Vikings FGs ultimately allowed them to maintain the lead.

So while I agree holistically situationally it wasn’t right to do that. given it’s 3-0 Offense TD game. can’t factor in the pick six.

Francesa has always disliked the Jets, as a fan that sucks but as an observer, there really hasn't been anything to like about the Jets in a long long time.

You start your post with “the team never comes out ready to play” and then go on to say it has nothing to do with Saleh? Who does Hackett report to? Who do the players report to? That’s right, they report to the guy who says this is the “nothing part of the season” and that we “just need to keep doing what we’re doing, it’ll be fine”.

When your best players on both sides of the ball are saying there's no accountability, that is something the head coach is responsible for making sure gets fixed. Robert Saleh seems to think giving excuses is how to do that.

The offense is broken because of you know who.

The Jets have the horses. Breece Hall hasn't forgot how to run the football.

Tyrone Smith hasn't forgot how to block. Aaron Rodgers hasn't forgot how to throw the football.

This offense looks exactly the same as it did last year with Zach Wilson, Siemien, Boyle and what people were calling one of the worst o-lines in the game.

With those guys and the additions of a 2024 free agency & draft class.

It's not difficult to figure out where the problem is.

    It's NOT the talent.

The Jets have a identity with coach Saleh. A strong identity.

This defense. Is something special I think.

The team isn't broken. The offense is.

If Coach Saleh had his equal running the offense the Jets would be impossible to stop.

Is he perfect? No. No one is. Yeah a bit too many penalties for anyone's liking.

But if he had a offense to match this defense WOW.

And they have the horses on offense this year and the QB.

Respectfully, you are so wrong it is amazing. Can you actually sit there and tell us there is any difference between the awful team this year with AR and the awful teams of the last 3 years with ZW? THE SHIT LOOKS EXACTLY SAME to me. The common denominators are the HC and OC. It never changes. The script never changes. They cannot run. They cannot pass. Dink and dunk and totally unsustainable. Francesa was 100% spot on.

It’s just so obvious that this teams presently constructed would’ve been best off with with a veteran head coach and staff.

The defense was just too good the past couple of years for us to have disgusting seasons that warranted firing the coach and Woody only fires coaches in those situations. He has no capabilities to think outside the box and see the situation as it presents itself.

Woody is and always will be the biggest roadblock to hiring a legit veteran HC. McCarthy was actually asking for the job until they told him they would choose his coordinators.

We're stuck with rookies and the odd garbage veteran HC (Gase) every once in a while.

Respectfully, I disagree. But I would never completely dismiss your missive. But you didn't mention Zach Wilson. And please quit the caps.

Uh-oh.... seems we have trouble brewing in Paradise. Frist it AR and RS and now QW is bad mouthing coaching... already getting ugly..... IMHO players really do not respect this HC, if they ever did, his insistance on staying the course with dumb shits like KC and NH.... will be his downfall...he already is circling the drain.

they're running the offense that AR wants. w/ the OC that AR wants.

AR is as much to blame as Hacket. Its a package,

    from Barnwells piece today.

    "
The Jets' offense has been built to Rodgers' specifications. Before the team officially traded for him, it hired Nathaniel Hackett, Rodgers' former coach from Green Bay, to serve as offensive coordinator. A year ago, it signed Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard to take over as supplementary wide receivers behind Garrett Wilson and added fellow former Packers quarterback Tim Boyle to be the No. 3.

Boyle and Cobb are gone, and Lazard has been fine in a regular role after falling off the active roster at times last season, but Hackett -- and the scheme Rodgers wanted his former coordinator to install -- remains. The Jets' problems start there. It's impossible to completely separate Hackett's scheme and philosophy from what Rodgers wants to run on a week-to-week basis, but figuring out who to blame doesn't really matter. What does is the result: They have an offense that looks and feels behind the times."

Of course the problem is Saleh - every single thing done on the field is done at the direction or with the approval of Saleh.
