Rex is the coach and whether it's fair or not the lack of talent on the team is also on him. He's been here for how many drafts now? It's ultimately on the GM but you can't fire Woody. Idzik is a big question mark, too. Do we really trust HIM hiring a new coach?
I respect your opinion. But the facts are this team gives up big plays on 3rd downs after holding the opponent under ten or even minus yardage on downs 1 and 2. A lot! Even Rex admitted the team has been weak on 3rd downs although he kind of makes it sound like he can fix it with an adjustment. In other words it's not a big deal. But it is. And not just this season. For years. His defense gets their stats but when push comes to shove gives up the big play very very often. On top of that he has the resources. Since coming here our draft has been top heavy for D players. Can this guy be a successful head coach. Not if he gives over the offense to assistant coaches. After year three he apologized to the fans for not being involved with the offense and promised that he'd be an all around head coach. And he did on paper. But he cut that short in year 5 when Marty came aboard.
