It is what it is. I thought the Pats made mistakes in the offseason and would disappoint, going 11-5 or so. So much for what I know about dynasties. Len Bias is one of the very prominent ways that dynasties die. I remember seeing Red Auerbach light up that cigar and thinking that if Bias was as good as they said he was that Bird and McHale and Johnson getting old would mean just a transition to the new Celtic dynasty in a few seasons. A few days later the Knicks had their first real chance to supplant the Celtic dynasty in a decade. The thing that knocks the Patriots off their perch will be unexpected and sudden. They're very unlikely to just fade into the mists due to age. Something else is going to have to happen.
