I liked the way the offense was schemed up with John Morton + Josh McCown in 2017. Then we decided to fire him and hire a guy who was hiking in the mountains for a couple years to bring along our rookie QB.

Somebody has probably already mentioned this, but why doesn't LaFleur cover his mouth with the card (hide his lips) when he calls plays. Seems like every other OC/ DC does, and there must be a reason.

Because Lafleur is not comfortable coaching from the sideline and I think it's fuckin ridiculous that he has not gone up to the booth where he has admitted he is more comfortable.

There are so many problems I have with Lafleur right now, it's hard to count them

Hmmm - that boy doesn't come across as any kind of genius at all. Totally unimpressed.

My biggest beef with LaFleur is his handling of Mims. How could you say to your GM that the player he drafted pretty high can't function in his offense? Well, call some plays that he functions in. Having him rot on the bench is disturbing and being a hardheaded first year OC makes you look bad. I'm also not buying that he doesn't know the entire route tree. After a full training camp and 6 weeks into the season that reflexes badly on the coaches.

It's not like the jets could be worse playing Mims.

I can admit when I was wrong. I am now on board with you 100% on this.

We are giving up 29.2 ppg. That means we need to average as many points as LA, AZ, TB, BUF and DAL. Good luck with that.

The offense has been bad. The defense is just as bad.

the average is skewed because they gave up 54 last week... Both units have been bad but the offense is worse. Its especially discouraging since the GM has invested so much in the offense. His 1st & 2nd round picks have all been offensive players as was his top FA signing (C. Davis). You would think that unit would improve from the very bottom of the league for once.

They took a downfield passer like Zach Wilson and told him to "play boring" and call -1 yard passes using their diminutive slot receiver as a lead blocker. LaFleur is in over his head

Still havent scored a single point in the 1st quarter all season, which is historically bad. That is an offense that is coming into games unprepared. It is the coordinator's job to work all week to have his unit prepared.

LaFleur is not an NFL level coordinator. He is failing at both playcalling and weekly prep.

It's amazing when you watch teams like the Colts, Bills, Rams, Chargers and others and you see how many times a game they have receivers that have ten yard halos around them from the nearest defender. They are that open.

    That's scheme, fellas.

Maybe next time we should hire an adult to coach the offense.

Remove last game and there would only be 9 teams giving ng up more points. The defense blows.

Still better 9 teams though. The offense is dead last. 32nd of 32nd. The offense is worse

While this is somewhat true, they probably wouldn't blow nearly as much if they weren't tanked from being on the field all the time. Now I hasten to add that part of that is their problem since they give up so many 3rd and longs, but the offense frequently going 3 and out and/or turning the ball over doens't give the D much time to rest and regroup.

I think our D would be better, perhaps a lot better, if our offense could consistently sustain drives and put up at least FGs. Also, it might be interesting to see how well or how poorly our D played if we did the unthinkable and got an early lead.

Better than 9 teams after arbitrarily removing a game from the stats. You are what you are and the Jets defense is slightly better in ppg than 3 teams. They are less than a point away from being dead last. If you want to hang your hat on that, God bless you.

Both units suck in my book. [IMG]

I'm going to agree to disagree. Atlanta and NE scored at will in the beginning of their games. In the Atlanta game the offense went 3 and out twice to start but are you telling me that is enough to gas an NFL defense at the start of a game? I'm not buying it. This defense stinks.

What's sad is you and Browning keep both making good points. We can split hairs about which unit is worse but yeah, the whole team blows.
