Yeah there are still a few things that need to be cleaned up but watching today's offense vs last week's offense was night and day.

It needs to keep improving before I take him off the hot seat, but today was a big step in the right direction

I'd rather Zach get his 1st win in a close game/OT compared to a blow out.

I think LaFleur did a hell of a lot better today, especially after the first quarter. He FINALLY started rolling Zach out more which led to the huge chunk plays we had and saved Wilson from taking hits. I also liked his play call near the goal line at the end - that play works fine if someone hadn't missed their block or Zach throws it out of bounds after the block was missed.

I really hope LaFleur looks at what worked today and dials up more of the same. The difference in our offense was stark after he stopped the bullshit that kept putting Wilson in 3rd and long situations.

That was an absolutely horrible play call. The defense sniffed that out before Wilson even took the snap. It had absolutely zero chance of succeeding, took us out of range to go for it again on 4th down from the half yard line and almost cost us the win.

That said I agree that he did better rolling Wilson out of the pocket as that's where Zach seems to really thrive with his deeper throws.

It took us out of range to go for it on 4th because of Wilson's failure to throw it out of bounds, not because of the playcall.

No it didn't. The play lost 5 yards before it began. It fooled no one.

He's only on the hot seat in your mind. 4 games in nobody is on the hot seat and except the 3rd and 1 on the goal and a couple other plays I think he made some good adjustments.

He is definitely on the hot seat after that piss ass poor offensive showing in 3 games.

3rd and 1 on the 1, you need a TD to end the game… any designed roll out is an absolutely horrendous playcall. Yea Wilson should have thrown it away but he also never should have been in that situation. LaFleur is just an abysmal playcaller.

I don't think a designed rollout is the wrong play call. I think that designed rollout with one option (who is Ryan Griffin) being the call is atrocious though.

And not a huge deal but Wilson needs to flip that ball out of bounds.

Playcall was fine. Zach needs to toss that ball out of bounds. You had two shots to get 1 yard, Zach ruined that.

Or maybe Jets need to ask the oline to do their jobs and run the ball and score a TD.

Russel Wilson lost a SB because the OC got too cute and didn’t go to Marshal Lynch for the TD.

Sometimes it is that easy, glad they won however Lafleur needs to do a better job of committing to the run to close out games.

Hope they can build on this win!

    Zach Wilson has the tools.
    Period.
Going to take some time to work out the kinks.

It's mind blowing that Van Roten is still in the starting lineup even though the pass protection looked much better today.

I don't hate a rollout on 3rd and goal though. But there needs to be two receivers in the picture. I spotted one. I actually prefer run/pass options in short yardage when the team struggles to run the ball, but that play design was terrible.

Agree completely, however, we are still struggling running the ball particularly right. I might be wrong, but we lost yardage three or four times where the LB or DL flew right thru the right side of our line. I might be wrong , but until we fix that, the roll out was not a bad option, albeit poorly executed. We didn’t give a chance for the play to develop and for the OLB to go inside like he is supposed to. If he does is a walk in TD.
This team is still trying to find an identity with youth across the board, so there will be plenty of growing pains including from the CS.

Our OL was better in pass pro, but fro run game it was just terrible, free guys everywhere, RBs no chance. I think play calling was better, although some head scratchers. I think the turning point in the game is when they got Zach in a Rhythm with some quick and easy throws. Up until then it was same as 1st 3 games. Actually when Zach went off script he was making plays! He got comfortable, and had success. Lafleur needs to package that up going forward! Get rid of some of the plays that don’t match Zach! Getting Zach in his game, and with better pass pro was key to get the Offense going.
