    Thanks NC

I was wondering when you would reach your frustration breaking point ..mine really came last weekend.

Sundays are ruined again ..the black hole starts at 1 or 4 pm. Next weekend it will start at 930 am for London time haha. So with days shorter and nights longer I could foresee myself with a slight case of SAD>>>seasonal affective disorder ugh

What I expected was a team that was well - as in well - coached, play smart, be physical and competitive. I really didn't care about W-L and said that but I wanted them to be competitive. Right now they are not.

Our HC needs to have a come to Jesus meeting with his OC. The comment about his doing a god job is not only disingenuous but insulting. I don't care about loyalty its about having your team prepared to play and execute and they are not.

I with NC, Vilima and others. I have seen this BS before and not interested in any narrative esp. after a game saying we have to play better, smarter or we are this close....

I expected a lot more energy than what I'm seeing on the field.

Mosely is the only guy I see playing with any steam.

    Where's the gas, Saleh!!!

LaFleur can't call plays. He needs to removed from playcalling duties. That's pretty obvious. He's too pass happy like Shanny was in ATL - but never has been an OC and not really sure if he will ever be a good one.

Back then Shanny is the real reason why ATL doesn't have a Super Bowl. It was a game of possessions in the 2nd half and they passed their way out of the game. It was unbelievable to watch happen if you can remember.

Running the ball 14 times in the Broncos game with a rookie QB who came off a 4 INT game – against a monster d-line and pass rush – is just not smart play calling.

I said it in another thread but I'll say it again:

If LaFleur and Wilson do not show promise tomorrow against a mediocre defense missing half its starters--at home--we should be heavily scrutinizing everything this team is doing. If we score any less than 20 points tomorrow--something is seriously wrong.

A: LaFleur is in way over his head as a play caller and is not qualified for the job
B: Wilson was a flash in the pan against a soft schedule at BYU and the NFL competition is just too much for him

We have enough talent not to be completely incompetent as an offense (i.e. Cincy last year, Jags this year) It's a problem that we have looked absolutely incapable of sustaining drives the past two weeks.

If A is true, Saleh's ability to hire a staff should be in question and he needs to make it right by bringing in the right person next year to run the show.

If B is true, Joe Douglas has lost my trust to evaluate talent and should be replaced by season's end if it continues.

Again, the expectation isn't that this team is a playoff team or Wilson is rookie of the year--it's that the team shows improvement and Wilson shows glimpses of being able to do things great QB's do (Lawrence and Jones have done that already)

Wilson was not a flash in the pan. C'mon, guy, that's totally ridiculous and you should know that! We often agree, and I enjoy our conversations, but this is over the top nonsense. How is Wilson supposed to do anything when he is running for his life most every time he drops back to pass; the play calling sucks; the RBs, TEs, and WRs don't know their assignments; and his receivers keep dropping his passes? His completion percentage would be over 70% if the WRs hadn't dropped those passes, drives would have been sustained, and more points probably scored. A QB can't succeed having to try to overcome an awful OL, awful WR play, inept RB and TE play, and an incompetent OC.

    NC I hope you're right man--but here's my take:

Let's use Burrow as our most recent example here. He had limited weapons and no oline last year, but he was able to elevate the team around him with his decision making. Even though there was a lot of the same turbulence that ZW is experiencing, he played at a level where you could still see the talent and potential.

If you remember after that Rams game last season, I went into a hiatus from TGG because I truly believed Lawrence was the only sure thing this past draft. Every other prospect has some major red flag that they will have to overcome.

I love Wilson's natural ability to throw the ball and confidence. I was and am worried about him making such a jump from competition level from his best year at BYU to the NFL, as Saleh says "in college the ball travels faster than the man, in the NFL the man travels faster than the ball"....this is even more exaggerated because of his competition at BYU during COVID. Some of his interceptions are clearly him trying to put throws in windows that were there for him against lesser competition, but can't get away with now.

Second, Wilson is athletic but not at the level Fields, Lawrence or Lance is. He is not able to rely on his athletics like Lawrence did the other night against Cincy. He's not big, fast or strong enough to do those things at this level. So for him to have success, he almost needs to have the intuition and accuracy as Aaron Rodgers or Mahomes.

I love chattin with you NC and I hope we can look back at this and say you were right.

But, if Zach doesn't show progression and growth throughout this season--I think it's going to be trouble. If he makes steps, shows he can decrease the ints and starts driving the ball downfield--it will show he can handle the bigs.

Excellent point. Burrow did it last year guys! Just accept the kid needs work. And unfortunately we should have kept Darnold and traded down. Tough pill to swallow for some folks, but hey SOJ.

While I'm a Sam supporter and hope he does great the rest of his career, the game I saw him play a week ago Thrs looked exactly like the QB we had only with a better supporting case. Holds the ball too long, can't see the field, waits to see a wide open receiver before throwing, indecisive...And in saying that I'm admitting I was wrong in originally thinking the same thing (i.e. keep Sam and trade down)...So while I think he'll do well for Carolina, we'd be seeing the same Sam w/ this wreck of a team and then have to shell out a ton of money for him.

Reminder that the Jets season is scheduled to end on time (by Columbus Day) so at least we can plan for it:)...But seriously, we can't judge this year by wins and losses (and no, I'm not a paid Jets spokesman) as it was never about that w/ the rookie QB and a clearly rebuilding team...However, what we need to see if clear progress in developing the QB and by clear I mean, crystal clear progress. I can take a 2-3 win season if we absolutely know we have the QB position locked up...If we have a 2-3 win season and go into the off season w/ doubts about what Wilson is, then I'm going to be infuriated. Bringing this full circle, if we go into the off season w/ doubts about what Wilson is due to the fact that we have doubts about what ML is, I will have the white hot fury of a 1000 burning suns.

The thing about Sam is he never got confidante enough to develop at all with this team, mechanics aside, and now he is going to develop into whatever stunted NFL pro he can.

That's not to say that he's going to turn into the guy that people thought he would, but there's a lot of in between from that and hopeless bust.

completely agree, Jets failed Sam then Sam failed the Jets...we'll never know if he is what he is or if there was more there before the Jets got their claws into him...But at this point, due to the talent/cost ratio and the Jets owning the #2 pick this past draft, they made the wise move to take Wilson. Now they better not ruin him and leave us w/ the same doubts...The fact that we even have to have this discussion is ridiculous as ML and this offense was supposed to alleviate talking about this kind of thing...yet here we are comparing Wilson and his sacks to David Carr's situation at the beginning of an expansion franchise...hard to fathom

The sad part is we all could have a fury of 100K burning suns and it doesn't mean jack shit ahah

Lets hope there is improvement each week

If not. Don't buy a Jet ticket or buy any merchandise . My Jets shirt is hanging in my closet lol. Not attending any games sends the biggest message

Let's see what he puts together this afternoon.

I feel this is a big test for him and this offense. If you can't perform 4 weeks straight....

The Jets have the ability to make the impossible seem possible. They are the suck version of Willie Wonka.

It’s going to be the same, I guarantee it. Wilson in shotgun formation, throwing 40 times a game, running the ball by committee, high of maybe 15 attempts. Ty Johnson whiffing on blocking assignments.

I honestly think we might be pleasantly surprised. I think the heat is getting to this staff and I forsee changes happening. Lafleur took a lot of the blame in his presser.

This may be my optimistic outlook, as always, and I may be dead ass wrong, but I am hopeful for this one. I'm trying to wash out the SOJ approach and really see this staff and front office in a different light

Darnold made big plays in 2nd half wo CMC. I saw the same QB too. Also Darnold was young and raw, but his upside is still very high.

We better see a great balanced gameplan today. Easy throws and don't abandon the run, LaFleur. Get Wilson onto a rhythm.

Hopefully he turned on a Browns game to see how Stefanski gets Baker going.

The defense we're playing is bad in both phases. Balance is important.
