He had part of the first offseason, including deciding the final 53, and managed the entire regular season.
those are facts. It’s not just 2 yrs like you making it out to be.

I don’t understand Douglas’ philosophy for building a team. It’s like he’s just throwing shit at the wall hoping it sticks. You gotta have a plan top to bottom.

    Well I'm just arguing offseasons.

Deciding a 53 doesn't mean you did half an off-season.

How much of a off season does breaking down a 53 work out as. From Feb to June all that work..

So LW has had two good game his career?
Cmon did you watch him play here or at all
    With the Giants?
He plays every position on their line, just like he did here. That’s his strength.

There is no plan that I’ve heard from him. And certainly not one that I’ve seen from him. Overrated af

Was wasting money on Kalil not part of that offseason?
And deciding the 53/ picking up waiver wires from other teams 53 cuts is a big part of offseason as well.
Incomplete yes, but he played a part.

He has not been good on the Giants except his contract year and the past 2 games.

Can't say I watch every Giants game, but I've seen them quite a bit as most of my football fan friends are Giants fans. They all complain about the issue we had here, which was hidden production.

Wasting cap money, trading for guys, and deciding the 53 plus waiver wire all before the season started is playing a part yes.
You trying to dismiss it like he only arrived in 2020 (which btw was worse season I ever saw).
I don’t get the unconditional love.
Bad roster mgmt couldn’t be more apparent.

Honestly, if CJ were the back up, I personally would not feel ANY better. Without Zach, this is season is lost anyway. Probably lost with Zach too, but at least we could see his progress with an eye on next year. With him injured, whether it's CJ or White, at least to me it does not make any difference.

JD refuses to overpay and then signs guys who stink. It's impossible as a jets fan but you need to surround Wilson with as much OL work as needed. Draft Issiah Spiller and estbalish a heavu run base next year.

LW is what’s he’s always been.
One of the most versatile positional DLs in the league who we traded away for peanuts.
The detractors only look at sack numbers, while dismissing last years sack numbers, and calling him a DT. None of it makes sense.

He didn't manage the off-season. Did he run FA? No. Did he draft no? Did he run second stage FA after the draft. No.

Funny how you jumped to the conclusion I was happy rather than pointing out that you are incorrect on the timeframe.

If your going to gripe, do it properly where you can hold someone fully accountable. Failing to do so and hanging on thin remnants of an off-season only hinders your argument.

That's all I'll say on the matter.

That's because sacks matter, especially where he was picked and his strengths. Acknowledging it doesn't really change that point, its very valid. He had .5 sacks the year he was traded, and 0 at the time he was traded.

You can like him, but the other side has plenty of evidence to disagree also. We got a 3rd and 5th (if I remember correctly).. unfortunately we drafted a bust in Davis, but the return was good at the time for a player who was severely underperforming.

If Breathard was the backup he could've engineered this 1-5 start with Wilson riding in on his white horse once the offensive line stabilized to finish the season. Instead we have a young inexperienced QB that might be done for the season and nothing to watch the rest of the year.

How am I incorrect on the timeline? He arrived early in the offseason
It was after first waive of FA and after the draft yes, but he did also play a role for entire offseason after that point which I gave examples of.
He also managed entirety of regular season, traded away Williams for nothing, watched Gase ruin Darnold, and then doubled down on that equation for 2020.

He wasn’t underperforming, unless you judging an interior DL soley by sacks.
But if you are going by sacks alone, how do you square last season ?

Didn't you just say his strength was playing all over the line? Now we are comparing his sacks to full time DTs.

    So which is it?

He was a 6th pick who got traded after posting 0 sacks during the year. You don't draft any lineman that high and be ok with 0 sacks.

You guys are insane. Like firing everyone is going to fix the problem. What this franchise needs is stability. Not a continued revolving door. You will never get far with that mentality.

Stability isn't the cause of success, it's the effect.
