Indeed, he seems humbled buy his Fups atleast that was my take. We shall see...he better sure up the OL draft/ FA and get a WR that will not cause us to be strapped financially and draft wise. ....

Nail on the head. Joe Douglas is NOT a smart football mind. His screw up at DE/edge last season is an example. He had a chance to jettison Carl Lawson w NO cap hit. Instead, he gives Lawson a restructure on his old deal to bring him back AND then he drafts McDonald at #1 when the jets already have JJ, Clemons, Huff, JFM, and Lawson. Now, because of that unnecessary restructure of Lawson, a bunch of Lawson's contract counts against the 2024 cap, when it could have counted zero.

Douglas makes all his decisions in a vacuum--with no thought how they affect other players/ salary cap, etc.
His stupidity in drafting McDonald #1 when we were so stocked at that position leads to think he will use our number 1 pick in 2024 on Georgia TE Brock Bowers. We "only" have Conklin, Ruckert, Yeboah, Kuntz and soon to be cut Uzomah at TE now. For the same reason he drafted McDonald, Douglas will draft Bowers at #10 overall and keep him inactive for certain games in 2024 like he did w McDonald in 2023. Nitwit!

Actually, my bet would be he drafts Kool-Aid when the secondary is the second best unit on the entire team behind the D-Line... Wouldn't that be par for the course vs. drafting a TE?

Here is the thing about JD, it looks like in the presser he said the right things, even sounded like he knew what needs to happen to improve team. But talking is one thing, and acting is another. For instance, he talked about listening to the players. Also he talked how we need to address OL. Now, the players are openly bashing Keith Carter who could not get results for two teams in two years. You also need to get OL free agents, who are less likely to come to the coach like Carter, whom everyone openly hates.

So, you have an OL coach, who didn't deliver, players, whom you said you will listen to, detest, and who would hurt your chances of getting OL FAs. And yet JD didn't get rid of him. It's not like Saleh, who is basically tied at hip with JD or even Hack, who may be there to let Rodgers be the real OC, like Payton was for Gase. There is 0 reason to keep Carter, and you would hurt your chances of winning and the free agency with him. Get rid of him! Loyal idiot Saleh (thanks @REVISion) won't do it. So, you do it. He is in your reporting line too. Do what you said you would do and help the players and help with free agent OL by getting rid of the poorly performing person on the staff! But with JD, he can sound good sometimes, but when it comes to action, I just don't see it.
