When Brady went down in 2008 they went 11-5. If other guys want to chime in on BB as a football genius or not, with Brady or not, I'd keep up the discussion--else we should probably wait until there's an actual thread on the topic to discuss.
Didnt Saleh say they played a ton more 2 man high last week? (They usually are cover 3). I think he knows the corners are the strength. Still need the front 4 to do their job though.
You are correct, they did some more cover two, which requires more communication between the two deep safeties and the MLB depending on which WR goes deep and which CB follows. . But the Bengals read that like a book with more WRs.
So... Ulbrich is looking pretty damn good lately, huh? I can't believe how fast things have turned around for the defense. This was the worst unit in the league last year!
I think when QW1 went off on the sideline, that changed everything for the Defense. They're playing with much more of an edge now. Downright violent. Now if they can just cut back on the penalties...
I think Saleh has taken a more active role in the D--I don't think Ulbrich has much to do with it and firing him would change nothing not that I'm advocating it right now. It's like when the Smashing Pumpkins played with James Iha. He was a face but Billy Corgan played all guitars on the albums. There's examples aplenty.
Q did great not getting a RTP on Rodgers... He said he watched RTP penalties the league is focusing on and tries to avoid rough contact. I'd hate to see him not avoid rough contact. Well... actually I'd love to see that... but I'm a bit sadistic...
I mean they held a team who have more 30 point games than anyone else in the league to 13 offensive points without their best player. The D is far from being a problem.
Up 4 with 4 min left and they surrender a 51 yd TD on 4th and 1 with 1:49 left. Yep. That was awesome
Defense is solid, but isn't good enough to be able to depend on for a win yet (see today). LBs are weak. Check the replay/ film on the 4th down TD. CJ Mosely missed assignment and loafed all the way to the EZ hoping someone else would make the play. And this is the captain of the Jets D and supposedly the D leader. That's the problem with the Jets right now, your leaders have to make game-winning plays, not game-losing plays.
You for real? They really gave up 10 points to top 5 offenses in the league, not their fault our idiot Qb throws a pick right to the guy almost returned for a td or Mann Shanks a punt for a returned td, if anything Promote Ulbrich to head coach his unit is the only unit functioning properly.
Nope, that was a big time moment for a much needed stop from our defense. They didn't shut the door on It, despite their collective efforts on the day overall. Still wasn't good enough. The defense weren't the only ones deserving of that conclusion though. This defense has been dominate all year though. One drive doesn't change that either. It wasn't good enough today though. Agreed.
He is not the problem. He at least makes adjustments, unlike LeFleur. Missing the best player on the team didn't help.
