Barry. You must have arrived to Las Vegas this morning. I have your number but didn't want to call. Please post an update whenever you can.
My dad didn't make it until I arrived. I left Taipei at 6 AM on Tuesday morning or about 3 PM Monday afternoon in New York. I had to go to Hong Kong and I left HK about 9:30 for my 13 hour flight to LAX. My dad passed away about an hour and a half before I landed in LA. I made it to Vegas about 6 hours after he passed. The hospice held his body because they knew I was enroute. When I saw him I couldn't believe it was him. It didn't look like him. Thanks for all the support and well wishes. I just felt in my heart he would have been there waiting for me. I know he held on as long as he could but time just ran out. I talked to him last Weds and he could barely talk. We all tried to get him to go the medicinal mj route but for some reason he refused. I know he used to smoke all the time so I'm not sure why he wouldn't do it. I don't know if it was an issue of the VA not covering it or what but he wouldn't do it.
My sincere condolences to you and your family Barry and to all others here who have lost a parent or another family member. Having gone through this as well (dad/cancer/hospice) I trust the peace that comes from the memories of love shared will help in providing comfort for you. We're always here amigo. Best wishes BB.
Sorry for your loss Barry. Even though your father passed, we can all hope your father knew his son was on his way to take care of the rest even though he was in his final stages.
