Max Starks is big and can run block. Thats about it.

He can't pass block to save his life (and definitely not the QBs life).

So we'd be signing a younger Clements with MAYBE a bit more potential if we can somehow speed him up a little bit.

Can you please provide statistical evidence to back up this bold statement? Perhaps statstics of sacks on the Pittsburgh QB before and after he was on the field in 2007 or perhaps passing yards before and after he was on the field in 2007. I'd truly love to read those.

No stats, but a decent article.

The fact that he lost the starting job at RT this year also says alot about the guy.

He sounds alot like a better version of Clement...great run blocker but just doesn't have the speed/agility to be a good pass protector.

Of course...he's had some success in his career and he's only 25...but I'd rather have Stacy Andrews. Starks wouldn't be bad if he could be coached up, but the Steelers have one of the most consistent coaching staffs in the NFL and he's fallen out of favor there.

Starks is awful, He's a younger Anthony Clement. Big tall guy lacks the ability to create leverage and his footwork is lacking. Faneca was one of the lineman but the key word is was. Maybe you get one more solid year out of him and then he kills your cap. Your obsessed with the Steelers lineman but keep in mind that the reason the Steelers season has gone down hill is the offensive line.
