I don't care what you say about schotty and all this other shit, the last defense drive is the most brutal part of the game because thats were we are not supposed to lose. Giving up the entire field mostly on the ground like that. Disgusting. We need to win the next 3 of 4, to me the only game we can afford to lose is San Diego. The offense keeping the defense on the field the whole game doesn't help their case, but frustrating nonetheless.

The defense had it's problems to be sure. However they kept the Jets to within 3 points for a decent portion of the game. That portion of the game was certainly long enough for that inept, putrid offense to get 2-3 scores.

There are maybe 2-3 teams with a defense that can keep an offense that prolific at bay. So yeah the defense gave up a lot of yards and points. However, the game was certainly lost in a 20 minute stretch where the offense was in the third stall, having a nice big old long shit.

The Jets are not as strong as the Pats are on one side of the ball. So they have to play balanced. Well unfortunately one side was way out of balance and caused the other to break...............

Neither the offense nor the defense played as well as they should have but neither played as poorly as we have seen against the Ravens and the Raiders, respectively. Calling this one a slight step in the right direction for both groups provided some glaring problems are taken care of before it is too late for this team.

The Pats offense being able to attack the Jets with their TEs didn't surprise me. We still lack LBs with ideal coverage abilities - even for the 3-4, and I have never seen enough from E Smith or Pool to believe in them as long-term starting options.

The effectiveness of BJGE did. I'm not sure if it was more missed tackles or the Pats taking advantage of the line up the Jets left in but I saw times where the D was in great position to make a stop but didn't, as well as times where they just had great match-ups against the Jets' personnel. Either way, the defence has some hard lessons to take away from this game. Still, the defence got to Tom Brady at least four times, Westerman stepped up big, and Wislon continues to improve.

As for the offense, Sanchez played a much better game than the past couple, he didn't turn the ball over once. He had a few of great throws down the field and what was more encouraging was that Jeremy Kerely was the one who caught a couple of them. Greene looked much better today than he has in the past few weeks and with Mangold back I hope that can only improve.

However, I'm going to echo the same sentiment that has been mentioned since the game ended: seven three-and-outs is simply unacceptable. Too many drives put the offense in 2nd and long or 3rd and long situations to convert which puts too much stress on this offense right now, especially on the last of three consecutive away games. Every facet on the offense needs to improve.

That last drive was at best terrible. Knowing that they were going to run but still not being able to stop them tells you just how many pegs the D has dropped since last year. Between not be able to stop the run & hardly any pressure on the QB (mentioned many times by Simms) is not a good combination for winning SBs

How does Rex put in the passing defense in that situation? Put the run defense in and dare them to pass, at least the clock stops on incompletes. I did not get that one. Running kills the clock. Dumb move
