He's better than Joe Flacco, Colin Kaepernick, 2016 Peyton Manning, and Rex Grossman. Hot take: he's also better than Eli Manning.
I said No. I will never give up on Jets. Never ever. I will still go to 3-4 games a year, watch them as always. I just hope they don’t extend him. If they decide bring him back for his last year I will not be happy but I will understand. Now, call me crazy but I think Bowles is done. Not so sure about Mac but Bowles is done. Over 80 million in cap space with a Top 10 pick and a potential QB to groom, I think Jets will move on from Bowles.
This is a little confusing. The thread is titled, "Are you giving up if Bowles is retained". I would answer "no" to that. The actual poll question is, "If Bowles is not fired will you still be a fan of the New York Jets?" I would answer "yes" to that.
I should clarify. I couldn't care less about getting to a Super Bowl; I only care about winning a Super Bowl. So I shouldn't have said "sniff a Super Bowl." I should have said "sniff a Super Bowl ring." So you can throw out Kaepernick and Grossman (and Rich Gannon and a few others). And I'll even concede Cousins might be better than Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer. But unless you're saying we're going to have a once-in-decade Defense and a top 10 running game, too, I'm not interested in simply better than Johnson and Dilfer. I disagree that Cousins is better than Flacco or either of the Mannings.
I would still be a fan but I would be pessimistic about our prospects and would watch less of the games if we kept Bowles.
No straws for me. Jets all the way all the time. I even love the misery that comes with being a Jets fan.
No just joking, Fj it's very simple for me, I will never stop being a jet fan. I may distance my self from them when they have 1-15 seasons as I really can't justify sitting in front of my tv and watch terrible football, as I like watching good football. However I'm a Jet fan for life. The only way I stop being a jets fan is if they leave NY and become a team for another city or when I die.
Will always be a fan, but they're about ready to reach the point with me where apathy sets in and I will no longer put the effort in to set aside three hours on Sundays to watch the latest fiasco the team decides to subject its fanbase to. I've already stopped watching a lot of the other games on Sundays (and the rest of the week) and can probably count on one hand the number of non-Jets games I've watched from beginning to end this year, so I don't see it being a huge leap to say that that attitude could eventually creep into my view of the Jets. If they were to retain Bowles for next season, that would probably help that process along much more quickly. The man is a lousy head coach and there is no signs pointing to him learning from past mistakes and getting better. So, he can get a group to play for him. Hell, Rex could do that. We need more than that.
