we heard of him before he was drafted.

The real question is: Robertson had 14.5 sacks in his Jets Career. He also had a real problem keeping his damn helmet on his head. Do you think he lost his helmet during a play more times than he got a sack? Maybe that's not a real question but an easy answer

Robertson was GREAT in 2004, a key to a near title game run. his career plummeted for 2 reasons- changing scheme and health. People think a DL needs sacks to be effective, he dominated in the 2004 season opening things up for his teammates on a good D that again nearly led us to a title game.

Two guys who I have yet to see mentioned, because they were second round picks I guess, but merit mentioning. And they were both picked at the very top of the second round:

    Rick Terry
    Reggie Rembert.

I would have expected more than one great season for the cost of two first round picks and a fourth round pick.

they traded 2 1st rd picks and got one back in return so really it was one 1st rd pick.

of course we expected more but he wasn't a Gholston like bust, he was a good player for a few years then had health issues and we changed schemes.

Wow...so your opinion is the final answer?! Please. You leave out so much that is debatable. For example, it really depends on the talent available in the draft. And, of course, the term "Franchise QB" seems so overused as to have lost any meaning. What is a Franchise QB? What makes one and makes another NOT one? These are terms that mean different things to different people. So, to me, Sanchez WAS a Franchise QB: the franchise being the NY Jets. And for two years, sorry to disagree with you, he LED the Jets to AFC Championship games.

But, seriously, you should avoid attempting to close off debate because you think your argument is best. It makes your argument look weaker than it is...

Bottom line, they traded the chance to draft three other players in order to trade up and draft Robertson. That price tag makes him as big a bust as any player in Jets history.

If you truly believe the bold, then I'm sorry for you, because you have incredibly low standards and a distorted view of reality. He didn't lead anything. His sorry ass was carried. He played well in the playoffs and helped them, but he certainly didn't lead them or carry them. Absolutely ridiculous.

he was a major contributor for us, he was not a bust. overall he disappointed but the draft is a crapshoot, that happens all the time.

did he carry them? of course not but he was vital to both runs and those 2 years alone justify the selection at the top of the '09 draft. add in we gave up virtually nothing to move up to get him and that was a great trade for us.

You're just splitting hairs...its hard to argue Sanchez wasn't a huge disappointment considering we traded up into the top 5, this was the old rookie pay scale so he got a lot of money. His performance with the Jets taken as a whole, while maybe not a BUST per se, was extremely underwhelming. Otherwise he'd still be our QB

helped us get closer to a SB than anyone since Namath- that alone was worth it. we gave up very little to move up. the issue wasn't Mark, it was the lack of talent around him post 2010.

If Idzik didn't hold that sham competition he'd likely still be our QB.

we didn't have a chance late in that Denver game, the only title game we reached where we had a chance in the final minutes was at Pittsburgh 2010(Jan .'11).

I don't know what happened and I obviously was being sarcastic when I said he raped a girl but there was some investigation and the girl kind of was harassed and she went away. He didn't exactly rape her, just kind of smashed his twig and berries in her face as she was checking him for a possible broken bone.

from what I remember she sued the U of Tennessee and won some money in court, Manning took some shots at her in his book

So I can't expect DeWayne Robertson to sack anyone. I also can't expect DeWayne Robertson to tackle anyone. By those qualifications, he's all-pro!
