Of the main 3 available to the Jets at #2 I think Wilson is by far the most risky pick.

I think Fields would require some real development time and I think he would need a strong coaching regimen that he respected but I could see him being very good in a year or two. I think Mac Jones ceiling is below both Wilson and Fields but his floor is somewhat higher and he would be the most likely to play year one without embarrassing himself and the Jets.

I think Wilson looks like a typical Jet QB prospect. He has not enough of a track record to guarantee he will be good and he has already been injured at both the high school and college levels making him more fragile than the other prospects. While he might work out with a strong coaching regimen and some real assets around him I think he is exceedingly likely to bust with the Jets - either because he gets rushed or because he gets hurt or both.

Oh he's biased towards QB's that make good decisions and read defenses extremely well? What a dinosaur! Why would we ever want those qualities in our QB?!

We really gonna act like Douglas and co. didn't think to make sure Wilson's shoulder isn't going to fall off? When we have reports they were concerned about it and wanted to make absolutely sure it wouldn't be an issue?

Lmao the Fields stans have entered complete lunacy territory.

Those same biases are why recent young QBs like Watson, Mahomes, Allen, Herbert were passed on for more “pro ready” QBs. What Wilson is seeing against Navy won’t be the same in New England.

I agree with the evaluation rigor under JD. I think that irrespective of the QB finally selected by the Jets, which is by no means known, it is absurd to think JD will not do due diligence in all fronts. More absurd however, is to pass judgement on a presumed selection based on past regimes, regimes mostly known for incompetence. Frankly, the term used by some here “it would so Jets like to...” is meaningless to me. I will support whatever decision JD makes till he proves me wrong.

You think he did It while jerking off? What do you mean?

He hurt his shoulder In high-school. Playing football. He furthered the injury In college. He also injured his right thumb In college as well playing football. Both required surgery. Both were due to playing football. Now you are just making things up to try to fit a narrative that sounds better. Facts are facts. "Wilson didn't get injured really either?" Ummm... No. He definitely got injured, hence, the reasoning for concern.

A shoulder injury Is not "common". Your body wasn't designed to commonly be injured, It's not supposed to happen, so, when It does happen, It's abnormal. Not, common.

A shoulder injury for a QB Is always a cause for concern.

Aside from that though. I think the other aspect of It, is obviously, the guy has had significant injuries playing In high school and college. How Is he going to hold up against much bigger and faster athletes?

    It's definitely a concern.

Also.. Just to clarify and add to this awesome point. We passed on all but one of those names.

Also.. To further that point. The only reason we didn't pass on ALL of those names Is because we didn't pick high enough to do so.

    Yeah....

Kurt Warner is a dinosaur. His method of picking QB's is based on an earlier form of fitting into a West Coast offense with rhythm and timing throws. That doesn't mean he is wrong on Wilson, I still think Wilson is QB #1.

It just means Warner has a narrow type of QB he is looking for and he is going to miss badly on guys outside his type..such as Trey Lance.

Think everyone should read this I rather take Justin Fields who has beaten top 10 talent for 3 years and has proven to be a top 10 prospect then some guy who wasn't even ranked in top 100 prospects last year very risky to go with Wilson think he could end up another Mitchell Trubinsky.

TGG has definitely turned into a pro Fields group. The majority seem to prefer him over Wilson at this point.

I'm on Tapatalk and I can't see the poll. And I bet more than a few minds were changed since those people voted.

Maybe it just seems that way with the amount of pro-Fields and anti-Wilson posts.

I think the pro fields are way more vocals and that many fans are trusting JD and it seems from all report that he is after Wilson.

Did you watch the videos? The commentary and analysis are actually very insightful. He didn't yet say who is #1 and #2 according to his analysis, we only have #5 Lance, #4 Fields, #3 Jones, so far, and he saying 2-4 are pretty close. Doesn't mean his ratings are spot on, but he brings up really good and specific points, while reviewing the tape, which given his credentials would be foolish to ignore.

I am seeing posts of bunch of fools discussing QB prospects on youtube, which certainly makes for a good laugh, but when NFL MVP QB and SB champ takes time to review the prospects and study significant amount of tape and go over it, it probably makes sense to at the very least listen.

I don't think he got a chance at a QB at #2. when the consensus is that 5 guys go top 15 or so of the first round, meaning a very high pick in QB rich class. But if he analyzes the tape for all prospects, I am sure he can give some worthwhile feedback. Kurt's worth listening to and he pointed out some processing issues with Fields along with many good things. Not sure if I would blindly follow rankings, but what he observed is legit, even though he's been out of the NFL for 10 years. I am looking forward to his take and specific points on Zach.
