Maybe I don't follow QB pro days close enough but 58/66 in a completely scripted controlled environment doesn't sound too impressive. Don't guys usually go perfect at their pro days?
Yeah, it's not great. Another thing with Lance is I think his athleticism gets overrated a ton. He's certainly big and athletic but he's really not that fast. He ran a 4.9 coming out of high school I want to say. Fields is a way better athlete in my opinion.
I have no clue why but...More and more I have a strong felling we are trading down from the second pick. My gut tells me they have a sleeper pick at QB later in the first round. I trust the CS and JD can hit a home run with this one. God knows we need it.
I'd rather have a mobile QB. If JD take Jones, I won't complain (unless he busts or is meh), but I'd prefer one of Wilson, Lance and Fields.
I get the feeling that was the plan for Zach Wilson. He was flying under the radar for awhile. Joe Douglas probably thought he could trade down and still draft him. Now, with his stock as high as ever, he may just have to stay at #2 and draft him.
Been busy with kids and video stuff so I haven’t really seen what the general consensus is around here is. I’m assuming similar to the national Wilson hype?
If we stay at #2, then we have to pick a QB. If that becomes the scenario, then I prefer Fields over Wilson.
So one thing all these stats show is how poor Lawrence is? How is he tricking everybody into believing he is the generational talent? I don't think I have seen him top any stat list that people keep chucking out, it really is quite weird.
Lol, no way, I don’t care what people believe in and I would never be a Mormon, they don’t even know tithing was meant only for Jews under the Mosaic Law. If they can’t get something that simple right, he’ll no I wouldn’t be one of them! I really missed your sarcasm with that list, my bad.....
No problem, I am always missing stuff lol Though, what a fucking list of can't do's, no point living at all lol
Ya it was all Zack Wilson for a few days after the Simms PFT podcast. But it's kinda tapered off a bit. Back to the normal chatter.
The majority of QB can throw bombs, it’s the sideline stuff that has to be on point all the time, yet he had difficulty with throws to his right, what’s going to happen in a real NFL game? Even if he sits for a year, he still has to go into a game at some point, and learn the NFL game.
Or close too it.. your literally playing pitch and catch... 8 balls on the turf and I’d say around 8-10 passes that was poor ball placement for the receivers. This kid has raw ability and needs to go to a place he can sit and develop for at least 1 year most likely 2.
I agree. The thing to keep in mind about stats is that they can be twisted to suit an agenda. It all depends upon what factors are included. There is a quote popularized by Mark Twain that says, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics." So, one would have to know all the factors and details, but I suspect there's some truth to the idea that Lawrene isn't as great as many think he is (and as I used to think). His is a story of being prepared to be a QB in the NFL since he was young, going to QB camps, there's his size, his poise, coolness under pressure, his long, flowing blonde locks, and all the talent he was surrounded with at Clemson. I still think he's a great prospect, but I do think it's possible that he won't wind up being the best NFL QB out of this draft class. I think that it's totally possibly that Wilson, Fields and Lance could all wind up having better careers, maybe Jones too. That's really not a knock on Lawrence, either. He's still a great QB prospect and can be a great QB in the NFL. That's just how talented this QB draft class is, and why all those who are wanting to pass on taking a QB in this year's draft are wrong imo. I think this draft class could possibly go down as the greatest QB class ever or at least to date.
