Vince Young was mentally fragile for the NFL. He had all the gift and ability. He was coddled in Texas, he was very hype and had that great 4th down play but in the NFL you need to handle the grind and adversities. He got paid and then just settled for being forgettable in the NFL.
What about his game is remotely similar to Haskins? What about the kid indicates that he's anything similar to Haskins for that matter? Not to mention Haskins was a statue that they wouldn't even dare put in a bootleg or anything similar where he could make the decision to run on third or fourth and short.
They're the 10th ranked third down defense in the country against the second highest attempts. Tied for 8th in interceptions, 16th in rushing defense, 5th in sacks, 3rd in tackles for loss, 15th in total defense, 19th in points against, etc. And Venables runs one of the best zone blitz schemes in the country. Just because they got beaten badly yesterday doesn't mean they suck.
When you ply Syracuse and BC, you should have those stats with their talent. OSU was on a whole other level.
I read an article that says Hardbaugh is on there list of coaches....I hope they actually try to get him
I'm still on the fence with Fields but at least he has played in weather conditions more like he will face in New York. A lot of college Q/B's can only play in the sort of conditions that you get in more southerly climates.
He's talking contract with Michigan and I don't think he would want to coach in the AFC East against booster and friend Steve Ross of Miami.
They are in no way similar other than they both played QB and both could run with the ball. Oh, and both are African-American. Any similarities between the two ends there. SMH
Vince Young was a dolt. I think he had a 5 on the Wunderlic, and they give you 5 points just for putting your name on the paper. He was psychologically and emotionally fragile. He couldn't deal with the pressure, and probably didn't have the intelligence to learn an NFL offense.
I don't think he is on their list, at least I hope that he's not. He would be a disaster, and I don't think he's that good of a coach. No thanks!
