I am a Clemson alumni and fan and this is not true. Sure, we have some talent on paper. We recruited a few players but overall this D was never on the likes of the 2018 D. But again, tip my hat to fields. Just think about that pocket he’s had to throw in and the RB he gave it to compared to Trevor last night. OL was a big downfall for Clemson and has been. It was a team beat down and I’d like to see it vs another top team. Bamas d is no great either but much better than Clemson.

While I'm now on the "Take Fields at #2" train because he just answered a couple of very big questions for me: proved he does have a big, accurate arm, and he has an elite competitive spirit, it also has to be acknowledged that he also had something that Lawrence didn't have: an elite RB. While Etienne might be elite, he's not 100% healthy. Sermon's running last night forced Clemson to have to respect the run, and really limited the effect of Fields not being able to run. Had Etienne been able to have a similar game for Clemson it's a different ball game.

Still, Fields absolutely performed the way he had to.

At #2 the Jets and Joe Douglas are drafting a QB...book it

Not a snowballs chance in Hell we let some other Team grab Fields or Wilson. Especially after last night.

The national championship game next Tuesday will be the real indicator IMO.
The red zone pick was bad last night.

If Bama stifles the OSU run game and the Fields has to carry the team against Surtian and crew- I don’t like his chances. Fields has a lot of talent around him and when was the last time and OSU QB ever amounted to anything in the NFL.

I’d stay away from USC and OSU QB’s

He was throwing the ball away for the red zone pick and it got tipped.

If you think he has a ton of talent at OSU, let me tell you about this team called Clemson.

Clemson was getting blown off the ball all night. You could have drove a truck through some of those holes. Plus they seemed disorganized and had a top DB ejected.

Ya Peyton was a freak when it came to preparation.

the Bama game going to tell the tale on Fields but he sure looked awesome yesterday and really impressed me.

Now suddenly Clemson’s defense sucks. Where was all this before the game? How much money y’all put down?

I mean in the big picture (Bama OSU) yea, they don’t compare. Clemson beating up on Syracuse and Wake Forest doesn’t mean much to them. Bama and OSU have been on a whole other level year in and year out

All I’m saying is they were TD favorites. This was not an expected result.

Sure. Maybe we didn’t know enough on OSU but VT, ND, BC all gave Clemson a bit of a run this year. You need to understand how out of this world OSU and Bama recruit. For every Trevor, OSU has two of him but in lineman’s and freak DBs. Those two programs are filthy.

I keep hearing that Fields had all day to throw. They have computer analysis of this now, rather than us having to use our eyeballs.

Can someone tell me how long on average Fields had last night ? Trevor ? Mac Jones ? The Notre Dame QB? The NCAA Division 1 or Top 10 average ?

I mean....did Fields have 0.5 extra seconds last night....or 3 extra seconds ? In the NFL, we are probably talking tenths of a second with a better OL vs. an average one. The BEST OL in the NFL doesn't give you an extra second vs. an average one. Maybe a few tenths, from what I have read.

We don't know who our next Coach will be and what Joe D is thinking, so it's Impossible to know our pick now.

I don't think the Bama D is better than 2018 Bama, either.

Yes he definitely had time to take those deep shots, and I'd like to see if Alabama can pressure him more and see what happens. Overall Clemson's defense is pretty good, I mean who would you say is significantly better? They are highly rated in turnovers, among the highest rated in yards per game when you take into account their primary competition this year, some other categories as well. Alabama ranks lower in a number of categories, albeit against somewhat better general competition.

Just saying apples to apples you can’t put all your stock in that one game in terms of fields vs Lawrence. Similar to Sam, look at what a bad Ol gets you.

I thought most of his incredible throws yesterday are not replicable in the NFL?
I think Fields hype is similar of Vince Young coming out after his bowl game.

I am extremely worry of him getting abused by pro defense in the NFL. I prefer Zach Wilson over him.
