JV asked me how a hijab can be something other than demeaning. I gave him an example. I didn't use that example to represent a consensus. Next time if you want to enter a conversation between another poster and me, don't jump in with a personal attack.
Do you have a link to the graph? I'm not saying it isn't true, but I don't trust Internet sources. The tents could be part of a solution, but they belong to Saudi Arabia, so the Saudis have the final say on them. It also might not be so easy to convert tents that are designed for temporary use to semi-permanent living spaces. If I were in charge, I'd look into it though.
I've driven in 5 countries and 17 states and at some point I made this same statement about every one. As it turns out, people suck at driving. My brother in law is a truck driver and has driven in practically every state, and he thinks Oklahoma drivers are far and away the worst drivers in the country.
Here is a graph showing yearly where there is a clear drop in 2011. If I come across the other graph I'll post it. And yes, I understand it would be up to the Saudi's, I question why no one is pressuring them to do it. They are air conditioned and they have plenty of bathroom and cooking facilities there. 3 million people live there during the pilgrimage every year
It's a 66% drop, not a 95% drop. But the more important point is that the policies aren't the same. Had Trump done something similar to Obama it would have been slowing immigration from Pakistan, specifically to ensure that immigrants aren't lying on their forms. That would have been in response to the 2016 Ohio State attacker, like how Obama responded to the Iraqi refugees in Kentucky. Instead Trump blocked immigration from seven poorly chosen countries because of a hypothetical threat and detained US residents in airports without just cause.
How much less could you care Joe? What's your point and how does it relate to the topic at hand? Do you really see a problem with people fighting what a court has since ruled is an unconstitutional executive order? Do you somehow find that related to the religious custom of wearing head coverings?
It was a 6 month policy, the numbers were 1200 the month before the policy was implemented and some higher months previous. After the policy was put in place it dropped to around 100, a 92% drop from the previous month of 1200 as I stated. Of course since the policy was in place half the year, the other months were at what I am guessing were normal rates which of course would mean you aren't going to show a 95% decrease for the entire year. I never said the policies were the same, I actually never even brought up Trump's policy, I was addressing your statement that Obama's policies "didn't create a shitstorm of chaos" and I gave 2 reasons why.
v v v You were saying? Not to mention your airy "I don't even know why I'm responding to this" condescension (which is all well and good and your prerogative - just don't claim 'personal attack' in the next breath).
