You know what, the loud mouth coach did this. They set it ip as a super bowl or bust team, which was stupid. They have a ton of talent, but have been terribly coached this season. I would be very surprised to see this team get out of the first round this year, and if they do, I would be even more surprised if they got out of the 2nd round. Bottom line is based on the expectations the COACH set, I see about a zero chance of this season being a success. I am most disappointed with the coaching staff. Very undisciplined and preditctable his season. The entire staff took a huge step back in stead of forward.
After seeing the defense carved up Brady two weeks ago and Cutler it makes one wonder if this team has the right stuff. People are right to point to the lack of a pass rush which lead to spme of the Bears wide receivers being open. But what bothered me was how uncontested the touchdown passes were. Johnny Knox is a competent receiver, but Andre Johnson he's not. He killed Cromartie today. I might be wrong, but it seemed like whereever Cromartie was, so was the ball, caught by Bears receiver. I'm just disappointed with this team right now. Yes. they are in the playoffs, but as a fan, you have to wonder how far will they go.
That is right. There are people complaining about the Jets going to the playoffs for the second straight year. "It wasn't pretty enough" "They didn't go undefeated" "They backed in again". All we can do is stay positive and keep loving the Jets(it is only our football team right). No matter what happens with this team I will always love the New York fucking Jets! totally agree. i get sick to my stomach reading the game threads...i don't even know why i do at this point. some of the people here are pure morons and/or have zero control of their emotions. at least i've been here long enough to realize who the quality and level headed posters are, and attempt to ignore the rest.

I hate to agree with him, but 3rdand15 made a good point that sometimes fans can be annoyingly optimistic. Thats even worse in my opinion.

There is a drastic difference between pointing out the teams weaknesses and being a gigantic douche. There are people here who can point out negatives without telling people they are idiots for hoping/believing the team can overcome them. I have no problem with people pointing out negatives, I hate when people invent negatives to further some retarded point about how the Jets won't go far in the playoffs. I also hate when people tell me that there is no way the Jets can win and then qualify it by saying they hope they are wrong.
Hell yeah they do. They're the posters on this board who cant say anything negative about the team, and always cry out for calm before fans can vent. It's one thing looking at everything with a glass half full mindsets, but some fans go out of their way to ignore the negatives. You can't tell me that you haven't seen that here.
That's my feeling when I look at these posts. For at least 3/4s of the season, this team, their coaches and their fans just acted if they were god's gift to football and then the wheels fell off. Pretty funny. The playoffs are a new season so anything can happen but not always.
I'm not trying to be negative or positive....it's a matter of being realistic. We have no pass rush right now...and the trickle down effect is killing our secondary. Cutler carved our defense up....it's that simple. Because i recognize that....apparently that makes me a moron I'm not happy about the result....and seeing our D today concerns me about our playoff chances. But that doesn't mean i don't want to win or that i'm a negative darksider....I watched the game and that's what I saw.
That's the thing - how can anyone expect us to go far in the playoffs with our D playing like this? Keep in mind that we got carved up by the Colts last year, and that defense was MUCH better. Of course I think that we still have a chance, and I'll be rooting like crazy, but our outlook doesn't look too good.

Because two weeks ago your post would have said how can anyone expect go far in the playoffs with our O playing like this. I will say this until I am blue in the face, shit changes fast in this league. This week the D gave up 38 points, wildcard weekend they could very well allow only 10.
