So anyway, I wake up in the middle of the night, gotta take a pee, turn on the tv when I get back in bed for the hell of it...OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm supposed to go back to sleep, for christ sake? Anybody know where I can get a jersey? I'm going to fill like shit at work tomorrow
Hey, WhiteShoeWillie, we've got our spin from Long Time Jet Fan. *** If I follow your logic, then shouldn't the acquisition of Favre make the Jets a stronger football team?
WooooHooooo! Love ya Chad and sorry Clemens, but Favre as our QB gives me alot more hope for this season. Here's to hopefully losing our 1st rounder for 2009!
You are so right I hope our coach is reading these boards......lol i hope Deuce holds up. and is Vilma is my boy
wow... this news brought me out of my over a year hibernation from theganggreen.com!!! EXCELLENT NEWS!!!
I never said the Jets QB situation sucked. It's much better than that of the Vikings. And Favre might make the Jets a better team for a year, who knows. But I will tell you this now. He's not taking them to the Super Bowl. I guarantee it. At which point the Jets will be worse off than they would have been otherwise.
Favre's jersey is the only non-Jet football jersey I've ever had. This is the best of both worlds for me, as I've always been a Favre fan and a Jets fan. I can't wait for this season to start.
I have to say that I thought he was Tampa Bay Bound. I honestly thought he wasn't coming here and he was dragging this crap way to much. I honestly said I don't want him here to intentionally throw ducks at our rivals, but if he is coming here with a clear conscience & wants to take our side to the playoffs and hopefully a big run at the Super Bowl, this is going to be a damn good year. WELCOME TO THE NEW YORK JETS BRETT FARVE!!!!!!!! :jets:
Why wouldn't the Packers include a clause to not allow Pennington to be traded to the Vikes then? Wouldn't that allow a division rival to become stronger?
Alright Bizzaro Joe Namath, if he makes the Jets a better team, then why don't you make the move? Isn't the idea to put the best team possible out there? The NFL, more than any other league, is a win now league. You do your best to put the best team out there now and win the Super Bowl. They have a much better chance to do that than they did yesterday.
No, the idea is build a consistent winner over the long-term so that you have the best chance of getting a Super Bowl win. You don't set the program back just on the possibility of making your team better for a year. That makes no sense whatsoever.
Man the Jets have sucked and not come close to a SB in their existence except for 1998... Why the hell not make this move considering how bad this franchise is?
How are the Jets setting the program back again? And when was the last time a team was a perennial contender without a franchise quarterback again? Do you realize how deluded this perception that a team can just choose to consistently win, year in and year out, is? It's next to impossible in the NFL without a Brady or Manning. This year, the Jets have a great free agent group and a weak schedule. You take advantage and you take a shot.
If Clemens isn't ready and Pennington isn't the long term solution, how is this setting the program back? Favre >>> Pennington
