That's funny, all I saw was, "never read our newspaper ever again; we have no credibility whatsoever." Must be a problem with the site.

I agree 100% with Lupica. It's a no-brainer. The only people against it are those without brains. You get Favre NOW - for the franchise, for the fans, hell, for the coaches job.

And if not, then what the hell was all that rampant spending and acquisition in the off-season for?!

doubt we'd win 7 games with Favre anyways. Favre is not the answer to our problems at QB. He'd probably only play one more year, and the asking price was outrageously high. Even if we could get him for a 3rd rounder I wouldn't want the ego-maniac anyways. It would take time for him to pick up our offense anyways and he'd be running a stripped down basic attack for the first few games. I'm glad the deal is dead.

dead, remote, whatever the deal is, I don't want him and I don't think we need him and the circus he'll bring. We need someone who can commit long-term, not for a year or two at most.

Ha! They actually said "lead us to believe". And they call themselves journalists!

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything these guys write...

yeah, but the future for the jets has always SUCKED. let's say the team goes 7-9 or 8-8 this year AT BEST. Mangini loses the players, and then a year or so later gets fired. still no QB, gone are all the good players we might have, and we're back to square one. HOW MANY TIMES DO WE HAVE TO WATCH THIS CYCLE PLAY OUT

Sweet. This is a team looking towards the future...fuck Favre...fuck the rest of the NFL actually.

I can't wait til Clemens shows people he's not just some dude. This guy can and probably will be a good starting QB.

I sure hope you're right. Every TC report so far has him struggling pretty badly.

We've never thought long term before, why start now?

Besides, there's a good chance that this (lack of) interest is simply part of negotiating. If I'm looking for a car to buy, bring my wife with me, and she says "I love this car! - I have to have it! - Buy it for me, please please please!" - what's the chance of me getting a good price from the salesman? None!
