That happened the day Parcells took the job anyway.

if Parcells was coaching I would have agreed but he's picking the players and he's average at best picking players while he was an all-time great coach. Think Parcells-Groh 2000.

Without Parcells we would be facing Cleo Lemon at QB and there would be no rejuvenated Ricky Williams in the backfield. Those two moves alone made this game much more difficult than it would have been.

How do you know that? Chad probably still would have signed w/ Miami after we released him and Ricky needs the money so he was coming back regardless. The best thing for Miami would have been to dump Ricky as all he has done is cause pain the last 4-5 years.

Chad wouldn't have been offered a job from Miami without Parcells there and they would have never taken Williams back no matter what. Both of those moves are pure Parcells.

Why wouldn't Miami have offered a contract to Chad w/o parcells? Chad never played for Parcells and Groh picked him and brining Ricky back is a dumb move for Miami long term so it would have been a good thing for them if they FINALLY moved on. Miami made the postseason 5 staright years from '97-'01 then they acquired Ricky and haven't made it since while he has quit on them and been suspended twice.

Ricky is the single best talent on that team. They are moving on both Ricky and Chad are stop gap players. Chad has a chance to be good if Ricky is great. Chad can't carry the Dolphins O, Ricky can.

The only reason we won the division in 02 was Miami's coach took the ball out of Ricky's hands and put it into Fielders hands down the stretch of a game Ricky had essentially won for them.

I haven't watched Dolphins games thus far this year. Is Ricky a shell of his former self as it relates to size and performance on the field. When he was in his prime, there was none better. I just wonder if all of the weed and time away from the game has taken a toll on his game?

Because they were so sure they had their answer at QB that they drafted Ted Ginn over Brady Quinn last year. It would be unthinkable for that regime to bring in a broken down Pennington this summer after doing that last year.

Weed is great at reducing the pain of strenous workouts with out lingering after effects while increasing appetite.

Ricky was the single best talent Miami had sicne he went to them in 2002- how has that worked out? W/ Ricky it's not about talent, he has HOF talent but he has other issues that have led to him being an average football player outside of his ONE great year in 2002.

Ricky was good every year he played healthy in the league including 05. The guy was abused in Miami and carried the team for years.

The man hasn't played a full season since 2003 and in 2003 he averaged 3.5 YPC so he hasn't been good every healthy year. he was GOOD as a part timer in '05 and that's been his ONLY success since his ONLY great year of 2002. We are in 2008, there have been 5 seasons played since 2002 and he has had 1 good season as a part time player.

I do not see Ricky Williams as a threat. I just do not think he can be the same as he was and probably will still hold a Rosta spot.

I love the way people kill Ricky's 2003. The Dolphins O was awful, the won 10games in 03 by Ricky grinding out yards 3.5 Yards at a crack, killing the clock and playing D. Ricky was used like a tank in 03 against a totally stacked D since Fielder was outright awful in 03. Ricky had 10 TD's in 03 carried the Ball 392 times had 50 receptions. He outright carried their O that year.

Ricky carried the ball close to 800 times in 02 and 03 for the Dolphins and they won 10 games in 03, 9 in 02 only becuase Wanstadt put the NE game in Fiedlers hands after Ricky had pounded them into the lead. 04 no Ricky Miami goes 4 & 12. 05 playing part time and playing well they go 9&7. No Ricky in 06 or 07 Miami sucks.

He was a part timer in 05 and still the best Offensive player on the team. He was good as a rookie and good every year he played in the NFL.

In '02 Ricky had Fiedler and Ray Lucas at QB, why was he great in '02? The man has had ONE great year, he has all the talent in the World but he has mostly wasted it. you cna make excuses for '03 but he averaged 3.5 ypc and that is AWFUL.

3.5 YPC is exactly what Curtis Martin averaged for the Jets in 1998 the year we had a real QB with a great passing attack. Ricky had to carry Jay Fielder and a terrible passing attack down the field 3.5 yards at a time almost 400 carries along with being one of the leading recievers on the team. The Dolphins 03 O was worse than the Jets O last year.

Curtis didn't have a good season in 1998 and Curtis was playing hurt all year which limited him.

Miami had a similar offense in 2002 as tey had in 2003. In 2002 Ricky averaged 4.8 YPC while in '03 he averaged 3.5. I do not accept any excuses for his 2003 season. The man is an all-time greta talent but only fulfilled that talent on the field for ONE season in his entire career and he has hurt the dolphins alot more than he has helped them since that awful trade.
