His footwork within the pocket. He moves his feet towards the throw, and sidesteps past the rush. His awareness is very good. The only thing I worry about is his reads. The Pac-10 defenses weren't that hard to dissect.
Should've taken that part out but I just copied and pasted my previous post & only edited the begining of it!:drunk: Still don't see accuracy as a problem!
No worries mate, I'm just ribbing you From what I've seen and read, Clemens just needs to work on his consistency but then again what college QB doesn't? Maybe Matt Leinart. In any case accuracy won't be a huge issue for him. His arm strength (stop the lynch mob, it's just what I've observed in the games that I've seen him play) and his mobility are gonna be concerns. Hopefully he can recover fully from his injury and scratch mobility off the list.
one interesting thin i noticed on the yahoo highlight reel was that he doesn't seem to throw a tight spiral when sitting in the pocket. but he does throw the ball very well with a tight spiral on the run.
So what you're saying is, experts who do this for a living like Ron Jaworski, Mike Mayock, Merrill Hodge, and Gil Brandt know more than posters on an internet message board!? BLASPHEMY!
Naaaahhhhh...Gil Brandt was one of the worst GM's around... And when Mike Mayock was getting slammed around here for saying Cutler was his #1 QB...Mike Shanahan agreed with him...
I think your going to love his leadership abilities. When he got injured, he basically became another coach on the sideline and was still the leader of his team. The next week he was hobbling up and down the sidelines on crutches leading his team. His arm strength is actually pretty good. The spread offense Gary Crowton installed used primarily shorter routes that spread the field sideline to sideline and created openings in the middle, the long ball became a bigger part of this offense further into the season because of Clemens' arm strength. Like it says in PennyandtheJets signature, watch the videos of the Ducks on youtube and see for yourself. You can also see what could have been if the Jets drafted Demetrius WIlliams, who I thought would have been the perfect pick as a reciever in round 4.
Hold on, hold on. You will never convince me that Merrill Hoge knows more about anything than anyone. If the topic was "what is Merrill Hoge thinking about right now", I'd still give his opponent a 90% chance of beating him. As for what I like most about Clemens, besides the all yellow uni's, it's the multitude of pics he has, so 80 people can have him as an avatar.
Best thing about Kellen Clemens is that he eliminates two questions from my friends. Who is your team's QB? and How far can your QB throw?
I love how quick, and smart he is. He seems like a natural leader whom (given the chance) could be a big time player in the NFL for many years. And besides > he's got a rocket and is very accurate :up:
